Police in Los Angeles have taken the unusual and drastic step of releasing a " wanted poster " . Not of suspected felons , but of women believed to
be possible victims of the serial killer Bill Bradford , who is now on death row in San Quentin prison .
The photographs were all taken by Bradford in the 70s and 80s as he posed as a photographer , to lure potential victims to his home pretending he could secure them modeling contracts . Bradford was eventually captured in 198 and convicted for two murders , but he boasted at his trial that there were other victims .
Now police hope that by releasing the images from Bradford's previously unseen archives , more of the women will be identified , some may even be his unknown victims , as only a hand full have been traced so far .

IT LOOKS like a page from the scrapbook of a Hollywood casting agent.
On it are the photographs of 50 women with fashionable hairstyles and alluring make-up. One sports a red, white and blue Uncle Sam hat. The subjects smile or pout, following the instructions of the man behind the camera.
The women, who posed between 1975 and 1984, hoped that the photo shoots would land them a modelling contract or a starring role in a film.
In fact, they were auditioning for only one thing: the fantasy of a serial killer, who had learnt that pretending to be a freelance photographer, with his own studio, was the best way to lure victims to his home.

It beggars belief that this was not done sooner . I would have released these pictures in 1987 , without question even if they were only circulated to law enforcement agencies . The fact that they have been sitting in a box file for 20 years is unforgivable .
If any of these women are victims of Bradford then they deserve the dignity of a funeral and their relatives deserve the partial closure of at least knowing their fate , however distressing .
