Yep, it all makes perfect sense: use the heatwave to explain why power to the nuke had to be shut off.

Since that all checks out, the story must be true.

The electrical outage was caused by Bush, Bush is evil, he will do anything to make money.

there were extreme storms in the area also, knocking power out... someone mentioned to me that there was talk of a Nuke in New Rochelle, NY [Westchester County, a few miles north of the Bronx]... well you can add that to the 'rumor' file...
