Dave Rabbit Saigon, Vietnam Lost Photo

Hi Everyone.....

Just recently I was going through some of my Mom's things as she is selling her home and moving to a retirement community. Anyway, my Mom never throws anything away. I found my baby blanket (yes... the old Dave-A-Roo was a baby at one time) ...... as well as all kinds of stuff that document my arrival on Earth in 1948 to my present adult life. The advantage to being the ONLY CHILD is having no siblings to rob me of attention ! In the process of doing all of this, I found THIS PHOTO which I had made in December 1970 as a Christmas Present for my Mom. If memory serves, this was taken about 3 weeks before Radio First Termer launched on January 1, 1971. I am 22 in this photo. My Mom had put it away with my letters, etc. and I have not seen this photo in 35 years and had forgotten it even existed. I added the Radio First Termer Logo and the Seventh Air Force insignia before posting. The original photo did not have these. Damn, I was a great looking kid!

My mum is a collector of things too, so when im older i look forward to her finding things from my childhood! Im part of three brothers though so i have to fight for attention

I dont have any pics of me when i was 22, but im only 23 so they probly havent been developed yet... but here is a pic of me when i was 7!

So as a USAF guy how many ppl did it take to add the logo to your pic?

One to scan the pic, one to to work the keyboard, one to look at the moniter????

Just kiddin with ya mate, I'm sure ya know our old Navy jokes about the USAF?

Nice shot Dave. You filled that uniform out well. Bet your razors lasted quite awhile though.

Your BDU's look awfully tight - did you have them pressed or did you iron them yourself..?

I finally figured out that the cost of getting them pressed was worth it big time...no more failed inspections and no more loss of time ironing - as I had better things to do with my free time like drink beer and terrorize on the local community!!
