Hey, don't put down people just cause they don't believe it is a ufo of some sort. You posted on here asking for opinions, then poo poo on them if they don't agree with you.

It's a free world still, or at least free ATS

I gave my opinion and was asked "am I serious? So its OK to poo poo mine opinions as you say? But when they get a dose back thats not on?

I dont think so. Dont you want to see this guys 'faking' effort? Or are you peeved cos it throws your version of events out of the window too?

Regards

I work in digital fx and have done quite a bit of compositing and matchmoving etc.. I think it is genuine, here's why even though it's pretty simple looking you would have to hand animate the object on that background plate to match the extremely jittery camera. There's lots of good matchmoving software out there but generally you need a constant point of reference for the entire shot, all you have here is the mountain range, not enough. You also have to match the motion blur (very difficult) as well which it seems too. Also the poorer quality the video the harder it is to track.
Not too say it's impossible but even though it's a quick shot theres a bit of work there so I'm thinking why bother, There are some well done hoax's around you can pick them, sometimes on the basis of looking a little to good, a definate craft(unmistakable), an ochestrated or well timed camera move, bad tracking, motion blur or grain dosen't match etc...If I were to hoax a shot (Never) I'd do something a bit more exciting then a speck of light.
I would love to see this replication, just remember to get a similar background plate, handheld from a moving car (shake that camera a bit) with no reference points.
Sorry if I'm off topic, but I hear "I could fake that" a lot and I think really? Do you need a job maybe I can hook you up.
Cool clip very unique.

I browsed through the video and grabbed all the frames of the object's vanishing act. There are only two frames in which the white explosion is seen. Both are posted below.

I also made a few images of the entire vanishing act sequence:

A 6,088 pixel wide JPEG of the vanishing sequence frames.

Normal speed (or faster depending on your GIF viewer) clip of the vanishing sequence.

I can't help but think it's a reflection of light (camera flash?) from the inside of the car window from the person sitting behind the camera operator.

It reminds me of that video that people were reporting as an alien or ghost crossing the road, when it was really just a combination of some water trickling down the windscreen comined with the movement of the vehicle.

i dont think its camera flash, ya can see it flying off just before the lightning in that slow motion vid

I donno,

If it were a big pair of flashes outside the vehicle, I would expect to see the terrain light up with the flashes. But I don't see any discernable light-up of terrain. The only luminosity changes I see are distributed on a reflective pane of some kind of glass.

Does anyone else see any evidence of the terrain lighting up in the flash frames?

Hi all... long time reader, first time poster.

First time I saw this I thought it was a reflection from inside the vehicle, probably some sort of light on the camera, followed by your typical digital camera flash. The more I watch it the more I think that's what it is.

Agree with Ecto, the lighting on the terrain should change and I don't see that at all.
