I read this today and thought, "Well now isn't this loverley". It's only a matter of time, words will only go so far.

North Korea has delivered 400 ballistic missile to Mideast

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM
Monday, October 27, 2003

North Korea has delivered 400 ballistic missiles to clients in the Middle East and sharply increased sales over the last year.
The South Korean Defense Ministry told parliament in a report that Pyongyang delivered 400 Scud-class missiles to a range of Middle East countries since 1985. The report said the missile export constituted the largest source of hard currency for the Stalinist regime.
The report said the best clients of North Korea were Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen. The report did not say how much Pyongyang earned from the exports. But the Yonhap News Agency said the figure was $110 million.

Notice it says "since 1985 " While I think this not good I think this is nothing to worry about. Hell, the U.S. was selling missles and chem biological weapons technology to Iraq during the '80's.

scud missles.....used to be a minor fact back in the mid80's, but you know smthng....there IS A LOT to worry about, now i THINK of it.

the real upgrades occured in the 90's i think, increased range, accuracy etc...but the source says: EVER SINCE 1985....sh!-t, this proves a pain, suds were the biggest threats during the 2nd gulf war, coz they could possibly be armed biologically/chemically.

i guess we'll see the sparks fly if the U.S try to carry on with their hitlist, it seems (what's left of) the middle east are armed to the teeth

iran and yemen alone could probably do a 20% scaleablity damage report with scuds of that size for instance the NK'S have a legion of scuds similar to the ballistic shehab2 missles, range 500km...(more n enough to cover the arab radius

It isn't what we know that scares us it is what we don't know that scares us.

Are the communists still trying to take over the world?

I dont see what the big deal is.

Every country has the right to arm itself to protect its citizens. Just because its a country in the middle east doesnt make it any different. How come none of you guys dont make a big deal about Israel's Nuclear arsenal provided by the good ol USA. Im more worried about that than the fact that a mid east country has scuds.

Nothing really surprising here.North Korea has been the principal missiles exporter(illegally i should said) since at least 15 years. But apparently Saddam and his " as strong as a mafia " army were a most urgent case to resolve. He could deploy WMD in 45 min and strike the U.S and U.K , remember ???

Most people would be surprised by the relationship between n.korea and the middle east

www.kimsoft.com...

I've also heard some n.korean troops fought in africa and trained african troops there too.

Hmm -
Could take this news in two ways -

NK - way to make you next target - convenient we hear this now.

ME - Thanks NK we now have a hit list nice of us to let the world know who you sold them to so we now know why the US is hitting them.

BUT - if Iraq was one of the best customers - erm - what did they do with them ?.

This reads a little like dissinformation - at a convenient time.

I guess it didn't create much of a surprise effect.

Why doesn't NK start exporting woks?

put all those peasants to work pounding with metal hammers.

I need a good wok.

I would buy one.

I don't need no red missile.

NK is the most militarized society, they put all their resources into making arms which is crap, and everything else they make is an even worse crap.

Hell, they couldn't start a missle program without help from the egyptians.

Interesting observation... With France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia as new bedfellows, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that they are at least determined to remain a major player, if not to take over...(coupled with their recent move to Euros for oil reserves).....

As some have mentioned, the NK Scud tidbit is a red herring, and a cry of Wolf!...this is old news, rehashed to build up the boogeyman.... These Scuds of the 80's are basically junk...(as GWI showed....)
