I'm not so sure that plants, animals, etc. are in a different dimension, or vibration than us. It's a shame we only have 5 senses though...so much goes on around us that we have no knowledge of, because we can't discern it from our senses... I suspect that dimensions aren't what separates ghosts, etc. but vibrational frequencies... Some peoples' senses simply have a greater range I think, so they can sometimes (or always) discern these entities...

Our soul is energy, energy simply changes form, it doesn't die... The only dead in "Limbo" are those who didn't decide where to go, or simply don't know where to go.... Perhaps it's due to refusing to believe the situation, unavenged murder, suicide, I don't know, but it seems that for whatever reason, some souls are trapped in a dark place... I don't feel this is the norm though, but that most instead are often reborn....until they determine their journey is complete, and then reabsorb themselves into the collective consciousness....(God for lack of a better word for it....but not a sentient individual, but a sentient collective)....

Gazrok, I totaly agree with you. I remember you posting in another topic about different vibrations, and the fact that our senses limit us to experience only a fraction of what goes on.. do you have any links talking about these "vibrations" as you call them?

Incorrect...animals are of the Earth...where as humans have souls...the freewill for a rebirth and a second life...animals were put here by God to keep the biosphere in check. Without the animals...there would be no humans or plants. The perfect balance to keep the Earth alive as you might say.

Actually, I saw someone else post a good link before... I'll try to find it... It was a paper that a physicist did, explaining scientific proof of life after death... This is just one example off the top of my head, it's an idea I've had for years, and from various readings...

Oddly enough, I first got interested in it from transcripts of Ouja board sessions, that a few parapsychologists had... Many different sessions, with many different scholars, mediums, etc. all seemed to indicate the same concepts...and right from "the horse's mouth" as it were...i.e. passed on entities, as well as others who simply existed on other planes (for lack of a better term) of existence...

These "planes" of existence overlap, and are only distinct by the vibrational frequency of the atoms. But, because most of us, (and our instruments) are only able to detect a limited range, we miss what's happening above and below our frequency ranges... Simply put, it's like expecting someone to pick up a radio station without a radio....
The radio waves are still there, but you have no means to discern them....

EDIT: Here's the thread with the link...

So my dog doesn't have a soul? If you have a pet, all you have to do is to look into their eyes and you'll know that they have a soul.

Bandit,

sorry but inanimate objects do not have souls thus they cannot be 3d.

animals have souls but not as 'realized' as that of humans.

certain animals are evolving towards human status like man's best friend.

physical dimensionality is not the same as spiritual and I think that is where our differing views come from.

otherwise I do agree with you.

That funny, since I've never seen any paper thin rocks or animals around. Anything that has depth is 3d. Your theory is overly simple, and makes no sense in our reality. Dimensions have nothing to do with souls. Where the hell did you get that crazy idea?
Is anyone else walking around in a pop-up book?

Let's see...

Considering the fact that Hell never existed in the Judeo-Christian sense until the Greeks got ahold of the original Hebrew scriptures, combined ideas from the Norse Hel & their own Hades to "invent" the new version of Hell;

Considering also that the original Hebrews believed that the soul merely wandered around in Sheol until they were ready & willing to give up their earthly cares so that they would be more able to actually enjoy Paradise without all of that "mortal baggage" giving them regrets;

Considering that there are also faiths based upon multiple reincarnations, either with or without a final destination once a soul is done with reincarnation;

Considering that a faith in reincarnation could even extend into an "infinite loop" with no end to the number of lifetimes a soul can experience;

What's a person to *really* think about it all?

IMO, I have seen a lot of documented evidence to indicate that souls wander, perhaps as described by the Hebrews, due to the sheer number of "ghost stories" that have yet to be debunked or disproven. However, most individual ghost stories never seem to last forever, which would indicate that those ghosts eventually go *somewhere else* after so much time passes.

And yet, there are nearly as many reincarnation-stories with appropriate documentation & lack of debunking as well.

Let's just say that the concept of souls wandering while awaiting reincarnation and/or a final destination shows more actual evidence than anything else that any given Church says about the afterlife...But it also indicates that there definitely *is* an afterlife of some kind.

Overall, according to what credible evidence I've run across in my lifetime, I'd have to say that there are multiple stages of an afterlife: The nearest stage (to the living world) would be what the Hebrews described as Sheol...Perhaps it may be a very close alternate dimension in which the soul mostly has no power to interact in the living world (except until certain conditions and/or certain places). Once a soul is ready to give up the physical world entirely (being *mentally* prepared to accept that it can no longer go back to its old life), it finds either its final destination (Heaven, Hell, Elysium, Whatever) or seeks to live again so much that it figures out how to reincarnate. Eventually, even the most earth-bound soul will eventually tire of physical life & then leave Earth forever.

Exactly what comprises the further "layers" of the afterlife?...Who really knows for sure? By definition, those who actually *reach* the further layers don't come back to tell anyone. Really nothing more than conjecture.
