Ive used an image of ununpentium as my avatar. I got the image from www.apsidium.com.... I believe the image was created using a program called Orbital.

Nice avatar...but I don't really understand the fascination with Uup. We have created it and it's neither stable nor shows any special powers that would power UFOs etc....

It was Bob Lazar who "released" information about supposed UFOs at the supposed S-4 base which were powered by anti-gravity generators that ran on Ununpentium and its strange and alien gravity defying properties. Unfortunately for Lazar when element 115 was synthesised it had no such properties and wasn't stable by any means, pretty much rubbishing his claims.

It aws Lazar who pushed area 51 into the media and popularised ununpentium, in pseudoscience at least, as some sort of super-material with capabilities far beyond anything we can imagine. Although much of what Lazar claimed has been debunked and no evidence for his testimony has been unearthed, the relics of his over-imaginative story have remained, much to the annoyance of scientists and skeptics everywhere.

Well, in Bob's defense, he was able to lead people to the mailbox outside Area 51 where they saw some amazing things. UFO's showed up right on Lazar's schedule outside the base, and no one has debunked that bit yet. Even if he isn't a scientist (which I believe he is), he must have ben afiliated with the base in some way. Especially since he's received enough money from an unnamed source to build a particle accelerator in his back yard, and open his scientific supplies store

The question you should always ask is WHY. Why would Lazar come forward and tell a bunch of lies? To make himself more important? Make money?

I do not see how he has profited from his revelations. To be frank, I think life has been WORSE for him ever since he came forward.

Ask John Lear, he might be able to confirm that finding.

I think they paid him to keep his mouth shut, as he hasn't said anything with regards to UFOs in a long time. He has, however, been able to create an affordable conversion kit for regular cars to go hydrogen.

The CPSC has officially halted production, and United Nuclear are now in a legal battle to sort this out.

Appearantly, the CPSC wants to ban a score of household and otherwise now freely available chemicals because *are you ready for this* they could be used to produce illegal fireworks.

Currently, the CPSC is focusing on common chemical Oxidizers (such as Perchlorate Compounds, Nitrate Compounds, Permanganate Compounds, Chlorate Compounds, etc., along with a wide variety of other common chemicals & metals such as: Sulfur, Aluminum, Magnesium, Titanium, Zirconium, Zinc, Magnailim, Benzoate Compounds, Salicylate compounds, Antimony and antimony compounds, etc.

The CPSC now claims this action is to stop the manufacture of illegal explosive fireworks.

If their true intention is to attempt to curtail the construction of these devices, there are only two chemicals which should be of concern: Potassium Perchlorate & German Aluminum.

For those unfamiliar with exploding fireworks, they are all made from one material: Flash Powder.
Flash Powder is a mixture of Potassium Perchlorate, and a special ultra-fine aluminum powder known as German Aluminum. These have been the only 2 chemicals used in the manufacture of every single exploding firework from firecrackers to M-80s from the 1960s to present times.

The attempt to ban the wide variety of common chemicals listed (which have thousands of critical uses in every field of chemistry) suggests an ulterior motive.

You´ve guessed it: some of these chemicals are a vital component of the Hydrogen Fuel System.

Pathetic reasoning but a highly effective suppression method.

Poor Bob must be pulling his hair out over this....

Although I've never heard this story I do know that anyone whos done any reading around Area 51 is aware of the Black Mailbox (fyi is actually white now!).

Alot of people want alot of attention. I do believe that Bob Lazar is a very intelligent man and capable scientist but I also believe that hes a liar. Its proven that he lied in his original story about his academic qualifications and employment history. You are right though, I think his life has worsened since the story broke and part of me feels sorry for him. The other side just feels angry at him for misleading people and lying.
