Spaceship Discovery to return to Earth

HOUSTON - After a high-flying departure from the International Space Station, Discovery's astronauts today aim to test a leaky power unit in a system crucial to atmospheric re-entry and landing early this week.

Mission managers don't think the minor leak is dangerous. Nor do NASA engineers. They're soaring atop a successful second post-Columbia test flight.

Discovery's landing is set for 9:14 a.m. Monday at Kennedy Space Center.

I wonder how the rain and the leaking power unit are gonna effect re-entry this monday. Hopefully it all goes well.

I watched it land and the landing was picture-perfect. I haven't heard anything else since all the news coming out of the middle east, so I assume the astronauts have all deplaned and are safe now.

About the only good news today.

yeah, it was a good landing, and I'm glad to see the Space Shuttle getting back on track. Nasa is shooting for the next launch late next month, the shuttle is going to be Atlantis.

Great to see it all went without a hitch. I didn't get a chance to see it land, but I just saw some pics on airliners.net.
