Should I really report a U.F.O?

A few weeks ago, my sister and I witnessed an aircraft we were not at all familiar with. It appeared triangular in shape, and had three lights. Two were what looked like dark blue and one was a flashing white light. What has blue lights? It was a clear sky with lots of stars, so I don't think it was the atmosphere playing tricks on our eyes. Also, this object was traveling VERY fast, faster than any jet I've ever seen. It might've been a fighter jet, but don't they have red and white lights rather than blue and white? The time was about 2:50 AM in Pennsylvania where I live.

My main question though, is should I have reported this? U.F.O. reports seem to have disappearing problems when sent to police and other government funded organizations, and if I send it to the U.F.O. reporting center what do they do with my information? Any info would be helpful, thanks.

You should have taken many pics, and posted them here!

At least it would stand a better chance here.

Then after enough of our UFO experts validate it as a UFO, then report it to the "Authorities"!

That's what I would do.

On second thought, they have enough of their own UFO's, I would'nt give them mine.

My advice to you is to at minimum call one of the reporting centers and ask them questions regarding your concerns about what they do with your data.

I would personally refer you to The National UFO Reporting Center as they seem to treat data fairly well although they are a bit slow to update the website at times.

Peter Davenport is the man to talk to there. He doesnt seem to do any in depth analysis but does add conclusions to some of the reports he gets. Besides, any detailed analysis you end up getting usually boils down to someones opinion anyway. Sometimes I think the analysts need to analyzed....

I think reporting a "UFO sighting" is important, but I guess I have seen a few in my time and failed to report as well. The wittnesses that were there at the time was all the validation I needed for the incident, but then again, if I would of got some pic's of those incidenence's, I would of posted them here after I had discovered the ATS family, a lot intellectual and inquiring mind's to fill me in if they were'nt authentic UFO sighting's and such.
I am not sure, but doesn't the "Stealth" aircraft have that array of blue light's ? Maybe some one else here know's for sure. Thank's for sharing your story though!!

Lets get a few questions out of the way, if you dont mind. These might help us to possibly identify what you saw or determine if its worth reporting at all.

1.) Was there any sound associated with this craft?

2.) About how high in altitude would you say it might have been?

3.) Did it exhibit any unusual flight characteristics i.e. sharp turns, slower than stall speed or hovering, extreme acceleration/deceleration?

4.) Other than the pattern of lights could you discern any kind of shape of what the lights where attached to?

5.) Are you near any airbases or military outposts?

6.) Could you tell approximately how large it was?

7.) Were you and your sister in a vehicle or building when you saw it or outdoors?

8.) Is where you are located rural or urban?

9.) What city do you live in (if you dont mind) and approximately what direction was it moving?

These are the kinds of Q's you may be asked by an investigator as well. They may even ask you if you had consumed any alchohol or drugs as well, not to incriminate but to check state of mind and perception at the time. I probably dont have to say this but if you do report it be brutally honest about your statements and resist the urge (if there is one) to flourish. If anyone else can think of any pertinent Q's please add them, but the answers to these may give a more complete picture of your experience.

Allred: I may be mistaken but I think that the F-117 runs red rotator top and bottom when running dark and its a dim red at that. Plus it is a subsonic aircraft to my knowledge.
