Joe lieberman for prez

This is a good man that can lead this country and if he was good enough then, he's good enough now or were you wrong? This man has ethics and if the Dems want to challenge them, he's the only one. It's time to wake up and come back to reality Dems. You're average American would have a hard time voting against him. Just my advice. You need to leave the fringe and come back to the real world.

Lieberman is a fine, honest man; but, because he has not followed the bulk of the Democratic activists to a sharp anti-war stance, might not even get the nomination for re-election to the Senate.

It's too bad, in a way; any politician, Democrat or Republican (but especially Democrat) mainstream enought to win an election is probably too mainstream to get the nomination in the first place.

From all that I have seen of the man, he seems to be as honest a politician as there is. He's a moderate democrat, who hasn't jumped on the anti-war bandwagon, he's actually gone to Iraq to see for himself. I, personally, would gladly support him were he to run for the nomination. Unfortunately, he has no chance...maybe as an independant candidate? Are you listening, Joe? Think independant, run independant, and you've got a chance. Slim maybe, but a chance.

This is what I expected unfortunately. Two whole posts. I honestly believe he is a man of principles and is honest but he isn't following what the extremists in his party tell him. So he gets the knife in the back less than a decade from when he was good enough for vp. I disagree on several issues with him, I'm conservative or so they tell me. Yet, I can see me voting for him solely based on his honesty. Sad state of politics today but then again, it's always been that way.

I am a HARD core right wing conservative, that is no secret to any that have posted with me on a thread.

Joe Lieberman is one man I would campaign for. He is honest, straightforward and clear headed.

However, when I bring him up at any meetings, what I get is this.

AT this date and time it is not feasible to endorse a Jewish candidate for President as this would further the rift between us and the Middle East.

Well, speaking as a lifelong Democrat, I never liked Joe in the first place. The Patriot Act was his brilliant brainchild, which document I view as a traitorous thing - it goes directly against the Constitution. He has come up with some pretty hare-brained ideas and in my book, is more Repub than Dem as far as his ideology.

A lot of the more hard left wing Democrats feel the same.

I don't know if I can be persuade by the Honesty of liberman to me he seems to weak and it brings me bad memories about the 2000 elections and Al-Gore.

I think much of his percieved weakness at that point in time was the fact he was second on the ticket, not first. His job was to be seen and not heard. MHO. He is a bright, generally articulate man, who because of his moderate views stands no chance of being nominated by the Democrats who seem to be wedded to the idea of a left of left candidate appeals to the mainstream American voter.

How about a write-in campaign for Honest Joe in 2008? He'd get mine.

I'll need a write in if the anticipated candidates get the nudge.

I think any negative feelings toward Mr. Lieberman of course emanate from Gore.

Unfortunately, that's how far to the left, the left has gone. Reps. will vote for a Dem or atleast right now an independent. He is now an independent. A popular sen., now an indpendent? Get's my vote.

Here's a general update on Mr. Liebermann's senatorial reelection bid: He is trailing his democratic opponant, by I believe it is 56-44. Not good, though not insurmountable by any means. Whats curious and somewhat promising to those of us who would like to see him run as a third party candidate, he has said that he will run as an independant if he looses the senatorial primary. Go Joe.
