I don't think he was barking at you, that's just his writing style. I would call it "flipp-ant" but I think that would be taken the wrong way.

Na not at all

Its just my pet pieve all that UFO evidence and not one clear photo, even the Nasa stuff... yet the live feed I watch is clear...

Nope I don't bark, don't bite much either....

Just don't get in the way when I swing my sword though

I have taken over 3000, and I have to say that mastering focus should not be overlooked. However, I will also say that taking pictures of the sky and/or objects in it, is damn easier to focus than ground based shots.

Its funny though...

In all the posts I have seen in here no one has mentioned that it might not be possible to get a clear focus on a UFO in flight and why. Personally if you did bring me one I would say its fake...

However that said... the background should be focused. That would be good for reference. Why? because if the whole image is fuzzy, well then take lessons, but if the trees and say mountain in the distance are in focus, but the UFO is not... well then you have something there.

Why? Simple Lesson 4302 Section 1 Light Properties and UFO

The UFO... if we are to concede it exists... would be a symetrical shaped object like a sphere or say a lens something like that. A cube although it would work brings other problems because of the edges and corners

So without getting into a ton of detail here... the lens shape [football for sports nuts] is actually the best shape. You can add a skirt for stability in the atmosphere if you want... all that would go under physics and engineering...

Lets jump forward... your symetrical shape gets a "field" generated around it [thats why it has to be symetrical, so the effect is equal... on a sphere this is perfect, on a lens the effect is focused along the rim of the lens]

Okay field is in place. The higher and faster you go the stronger the field...

Try to take a picture behind a heat source.... say a radiator for those that remember those... same in the desert when heat rises from the sand or the road. You get a shimmering fuzzy image of whats behind...

Same thing applies You would not get a clear photo through the field, as light would be distorted, may even be completely bent around it making it appear to be invisible...

So unless it is parked with its motor off.... be happy with fuzzy images of the craft, not the surrounding.

One addition if you seriously examine good reported sightings you will spot a couple things that are consistant...

night sightings..... speed of craft observed
slow, hovering reddish/orange glow
flying higher, faster yellow, greenish, white..
extremely fast as they speed off... bluish white
motion appears undulating, wave like.... wave pattern

day sightings
hard to see.... bending of light waves around gravity well
fuzzy, blurred out of focus.... light distorted by EM radiation
some seen better under IR light.... IR is the heat more than light portion of the spectrum... I wonder why that might show up more?

Okay class Homework is go find me some good pictures now. The physics part will be on a web site if I ever get time.

Here are some of my photos.

A katydid.
Photo taken with a macro lens at night.
i111.photobucket.com...

An orb web spider of some sort.
Macro lens, at a river.
i111.photobucket.com...

A very patient blue belly lizard.
Macro lens near a river.
i111.photobucket.com...

Lightning through my windshield.
Time exposure. Wide angle lens.
This one was loud, and too close for comfort.
(the faint black line is the windshield wiper. And the black dots you may see are dust particles on the ccd)
i111.photobucket.com...

With lightning you have to constantly take long exposures of about 5 seconds throughout the storm until you catch your lightning. About 1 in 20 photos you catch lightning. Then about 1 in 5 lightning photos are decent.

Cause in IR, the sky is black (no IR). Thus any object would stand out a mile..

Catching on I see

BTW Marclar very nice photos... but I see your feelings are still hurt... so.. I am sorry if you thought I was attacking your ability as a photographer...

Now while we are talking about photos

have a look at this famous UFO PICTURE

Notice the sharp detail of the craft and the fuzzy scenery... means its close and its small. I am sure Marclar will agree yes? Your cute lizard shows that.

okay now go have a look at this WORKING PROTOTYPE

Look familiar?

Now look at the videos there. This is for real, no joke. It IS air powered BUT the principal applies to ummm other energy sources

Your gonna love the bigger TURBINE POWERED ONE

Its a slow load, trust me its worth it...

And if this doesn't knock your socks off... nothing will

Only problem here is that its not OURS because our government ummmm discourages inventors...
This one is FRENCH

[Don't get me wrong I like the French....LOL.... just pi...upset they beat us to it]

While we are sharing photos

Here are a few of mine, at least the ones I can share with the public

Mig Fighter and Others

And how about the US Navy experimental stealth hydrofoil?

Sea Shadow

Notice the position of the camera, they are not taken from the dock. The guy with the big video camera leaning over the rail on the back of the aircraft carrier is the film man for that documentary they airred on discovery when they declassified it

I feel sorry for medieval re-enactors. I really do.

Great work Marclar. Get yourself an IR filter and go hunt them UFOs. Maybe you will repeat my successes

That's it? All this time(since the 60's) all I had to do was look at a photo and say gee the supposed craft is destinct and the scenery is fuzzy voila its a hoax?
And to think all this time I could've done something worthwhile like win the Nobel Prize instead of wasting my time investigating UFO sightings.
*slaps forehead*

Oh yes, indeed
You see.. the universe LIKES simplicity... its only us bipeds that love to confuddle everything. If the simple answer works... it is most likely the truth... I mean after all the unverse runs on hydrogen .. the simplest most abundant stuff yet boy does it pack a punch...

But then you know this... but someone has to educate the kiddies
