Iran using Hamas and Hezbollah to divert attention?

It seems to me that the nuclear issue with Iran seems to force Iran to use Hamas and Hezbollah to divert western nations, especially the U.S. back to Israel and the Palestinians which the U.S. has been trying to keep the peace between the two. It was pretty calm between the two peoples until the attack by Hamas which resulted in the deaths of Israeli soldiers and the captured of one and possibly war. Now that seems to make me believe that somehow the Iranians pushed this in hopes that it could cause a conflict where the U.S. and other nations would shove aside the subject of Iran's nuclear ambitions to maintain order and buy Iran time.
