There are actually 2 videos. The first one talks about the relationship betwean US and Russia. The second one is the one that this thread is about. They interview Putin about the war in Iraq, the situation with North Korea and Iran, and about the deaths of the Russian diplomats in Iraq. Its not Putin's voice, he is translated, by the way.

video.msn.com...

I totally agree with Putin's comments. I'm not a very big fan of him, but he's right.

Hmm, I'm getting errors trying to watch that video, so for the moment can't see it before my browser shuts down. And so for that very reason, it would have been nice to read your comments, opinions and analysis of the video(s). It's kind of a tradition around here that when you post the news story, you also include your opinions about it.

Basically, what Putin says is:

He doesn't side with countries that the world hates

He is against the war on Iraq

He believes not provoking Iran and North Korea is best for now

He believes that now, Iraq has a chance to make improvements, but the security has only worsened.

He says that US and the other occupiers are at fault for the deaths of the Russian diplomats because it is their duty to keep the country secure when they invade it.

He also says that he doesn't trust anyone, including Kim.

Hm, well I watched it. I don't agree with him about the Russian diplomats deaths should be blamed on the "international forces in the region responsible for security". The deaths should be blamed on those who KILLED the diplomats.

Also, this should reiiterate to the western world that we need to find new sources of energy, because I truly believe Putin will start using oil as foreign diplomacy. We have our energy essentially in unstable countries, and Russia's hands, and that is a problem.

The best thing for America would be using our OWN resources, or Canada drilling for their more of their own resources, and stop with this dependence on a region that hates the West and is extremely unstable.

And who cares if Russia turns out to be communist again, it isn't our business or problem. I am sure the Russian people would agree with me.

Putin still reminds me of that little former slave elf from the movie, "Harry Potter." If he belived the "invading forces" are in charge of making sure everyone in the country is secure and he doesn't trust anyone but himself, then Russia should have either been in the coalition or their diplomats out of the country.

He wishes to have it all ways. Like all KGB puppies. Why is Russia not on top of the list of oil producers if what he says is true? Spent too much money on nukes? That's how they lost the cold war. Spending big money in the wrong direction. Nothing on the infrastructure necessary to deliver the largest supply of petrol in the world.

No one can trust you leader Russian Soldier. Least of all his own citizens...

In the US we have enough idiots that swallow crap from commies, US commies, and believe what they learn at University is true. Taught by commies to be commies. And now they even think it's right.

Russia is not in the so called coalition, because this war is a joke. It is meant for US to ensure its future presence in the Middle East. Nobody outside Western Europe and US has anything to gain from this war. Putin is right to blame the occupation forces, because they cannot get the country under control. Iraq is in complety anarchy and chaos, and it is up to those who created it (US- by invading it and toppling Saddam) to fix it. Russia will not withdraw its embassy staff, because a large country has every right and reason to have diplomatic presence in Iraq and every other nation.

They did not lose the Cold War. They simply withdrew from it. Cold War is not to be compared to regular War. You win it, if at the end you stay alive- and both sides did. Plus the Cold War is never really over. It is simply on Stand-By, and could restart in another decade. Russia has all the infrastructure it needs to obtain and supply petroleum and natural gas. However it does not want to turn into Middle Eastern - like state, where resources are its only industry. Russia could increase supply if it wanted to, but there is no reason. The exports bring enough money in, and if Russia increases it by much, world wide oil prices will decline, and no exporter is intersted in that. Its called economics 101.

Paranoia is not healthy. Russians were much trust Putin, and his approval ratings are far higher than for any American or Western leader. I speak from direct knowledge- you speak from decades old paranoia implanted in you by the American "free press" and "unbiases education", which are a joke really. US commies? LMAO. If McCarthy should have taught you one thing- it is that witch hunts belong in the 18 century- not the 21st. No one in Russia wants communism for the most part. American Communists are a joke- they are left socialist democrats not communists. So leave your paranoia out of modern politics.
