I have a friend who gets to vote for the Emmys. He watches a lot of TV, but he does not have enough time to watch all the shows nominated. He
watches everything except some of the miniseries. He said he still votes on the miniseries, but just picks what he heard was good. It got me
thinking if he was the only one who picked "randomly" when voting on shows he/she does not watch. I counted the numbers of shows that were
nominated this year and there are fifty-three shows, not including the miniseries and made for TV movies. In order to watch that many shows one would
have no life other than work and watching TV, or never sleep. Since I assume neither is the case for most of the people who vote, a lot of them must
vote randomly some of the time. I do not see the purpose of having an award show where the awards are picked randomly.
I cannot prove that most people vote randomly some of the time; it is an educated guess.
