Poll: Should I Profit From A Next-Gen Console Release?

Today I went out and pre-ordered a Nintendo Wii bundle, which also includes two games and an extra controller. But then the entrepreneurial side of my brain got to thinking... why not get it for free?

My brain began to think of Christmas past, where people went ridiculous for toys like Tickle Me Elmo and Tamigotchi, paying several times the retail price to get ahold of these items at their release. And I am wondering if the same thing will apply to brand new consoles or not.

Here are the facts:
1. Nintendo Wii is releasing in Q4, "Late October to Early November". If the release alone wouldn't be enough alone to hype it up, it is a month before Christmas.
2. Several people I have talked to suggested that the production of these systems is going to be quite limited, and stores will probably be sold out until April.
3. There is a local online classifieds in which I can reach a large audience of potential buyers for free.

So I have decided to take a poll and see what people think. Is it worth the risk of potentially selling at a loss, with the chance of doubling up? The most I could possibly lose would be taking a $30 loss, and surely someone will buy it for $30 below retail price if stores end up not going out of stock. But still, ~$300 is a fairly large investment.

I don't plan on buying a dozen of these and trying to exploit people's wants for an extra few thousand dollars (although it would be a great plan), I just want to sell one extra at double the retail price, thus breaking even and getting my own system 'for free'.

And if I have just given someone an idea that will make them the next eBay millionare, your welcome and congratulations.

So please reply YES or NO, do you think it is worth the risk to undertake this venture?

Yes go for it, there is practicly no risk at all, just simple supply and demand, you have to buy the stuff in least demand at the lowest price you can (retail) and sell it at a place with more demand (ebay) I'd do it if I had a way to get one

Ya, I was thinking of doing the same for ps3, but tag is heafty.
Should work, even if it dosnt you can still sell for normal price.
You wont loose in the long run at all, its a break even or win.
