EMP: Lights Out

I was wondering why is'nt there more hype about EMP weapons? I know that nuclear missles emit a rather large EMP blast, but why dont that simply make an EMP bomb.
I was told the largest EMP generator in the U.S. is located at Kirtland AFB in New Mexico. Is it stationary?..why?

There is'nt a single doubt in my mind that the US military has devastating EMP weapons. Think about what they can do.
