Giant lizards in history?

I tried using the search thing first, but my computer kept messing up. So, does anybody know of any giant liazrd civilisations, or bipedal reptiles in history? I don't know wheater to belive they are real or whatever, but it would be some good material to read. Anything posted back would be much appreciated.

Hopefully the links will work this time. Also, before anyone points it out, I know that dinosaur were bipedal reptiles. I'll try and find some more stuff.
