I always was told as long as it was covered by BDUs (not on your neck or forehead..lol) you were good to go...?

Sure, as long as they were there before you became the property of the United States government. No tats after, so said the directive. I said "
" (getting tattoos actually fall into the category of destruction of government property.)

Another term isn't pessimism...it's all but assured, given the opposition.... *sigh*

Getting a tattoo was against the uniform code of military justice (what a crock!) b/c you were defacing military property. YES, that's right.
A marvelous illustration of a fact...In the military (any military) a soldier is just another weapon of battle...
Rather comedic really, but I doubt much comes of it, as long as it's a unit tattoo, or one of that service, etc.

The only time it might become an issue is if someone's tat got infected and they had to waste time at sick call, most likely.

Hmm.. Bush or Gore? I chose Bush, hoping... See where that got us?
And I still wouldn't have voted for Gore.

As much tax as I pay, and considering what I see it benefitting the country, I'm not going to volunteer time to them. Sorry, hate to sound like a mercenary, but I'm getting ill with the whole thing.

Well, it looks like the draft is true. Phooey! It seems to be in the planning stages as we speak according to Rumsfeld.

WASHINGTON -- The government is taking the first steps toward a targeted military draft of Americans with special skills in computers and foreign languages.

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is adamant that he will not ask Congress to authorize a draft, and officials at the Selective Service System, the independent federal agency that would organize any conscription, stress that the possibility of a so-called "special skills draft" is remote.
