Can anybody give me a hint on what was that?

Some years ago, about 10pm, on a regular middle August night, fresh wind, really a nice evening. Clear sky, the type that gives one a great view of the stars and that evening a great view of a very odd ocurrence.

I was in the outside of the house, it is a very quiet place, you only hear the birds and your thoughts, very relaxing, and while enjoying the fresh air I was with friends chating. Regular stuff.

We were in a kind of circle, talking, and at some point one of my friends says "hey, look up there, what's that?"; we looked at him as he was looking to the sky, and to the west very low there was an object.
It was spherical, it was about the size of a full moon, not very shiny, I would say it was grey but surely a pale dark color. It had a light in the center that covered 1/5 of the bottom of the object, so very large, but not shiny, just a light of white color. It also had a lot of small lights around its perimeter, also white in color. It had some structural working, not completely flat.

We were looking at it in silence for about a minute. We looked at each other and went running into the house looking at it still not moving, as we enter the house we call relatives to see it, but as we returned outside nothing was there. No trails, no sound, absolutely nothing.

That's it, I would appreciate theories.

Okay, just to emerge the topic.

No theories? Say it's a satellite, venus reflected in a swamp gas, a butterfly, whatever.
My thoughts? A UFO, of course, it was flying, and I was not able to identify it. From Earth? Not likely. Why? You tell me.

Sounds suspiciously like a UFO. Maybe not "aliens," but maybe something somebody was testing. Some kind of dirigible, perhaps. Next time it flies over, try to shoot it down. That would help a lot to identify it.

Without pictures it would be hard for anyone to say what you saw going by only a description it could have been a plastic bag floating on hot air or a balloon released from a party. Who knows what else it could be.

Mid 90's, there were no cell phones of third generation, and rarely someone would walk with a camera on the shoulder by 10pm.

Consider the size, and the description.

This was in the middle of nowhere, a small village with what, 100 people?

Balloon? A bag? Please.
