I was in a near fatal car accident a little over a year ago and have had some problems with my right ear ever since. It feels like liquid is building up, as if I had just went swimming. I've tried to get it out by shaking my head, but with no luck. I searched the net and came up with 'ear tubes' that are placed inside the eardrum via incision to act as a ventilator. Oh my! I know this has been a problem for small children, but I didn't have any problems as a child. Also, this has happened twice and went away the first time. Now it is back! I read that if it is recurring it could be a brain tumor! I had my annual physical a couple of weeks ago, but had forgotten all about this problem. Conveniently, it came back AFTER my visit to the doc. Any advice?

As someone who just a few years ago had a bout with inner ear infection, I would recommend seeing an ear, nose and throat specialist. Once your inner ear gets infected, the vertigo makes functioning normally a major effort.

Pressure build up has got to be bad. Try searching for "ear wax candles" They might've been taken off the market by the FDA. Buy they get out ear wax real good, I hear.

If nothing came or does come out see a doc ASAP cause it could be a lot more serious. Could be like something broken in your head from the car accident.

Thank you all for your replies! I've never had an ear infection before, so I'm not familiar with treatment. I am going to schedule an appointment ASAP with an ear specialist. In the meantime, I'll checkout those 'ear wax candles'. It's definitely a fluid of some sort because I can hear a swooshing sound. I'm really concerned, but hopefully it's minor and can be resolved rather easily.

ktprktpr, I've thought that the car accident knocked something out of place...Afterwards, I could hear a sound when I smiled or turned my head. The sound resembled that of a creaking door. I do not hear the sound anymore, but that's been replaced with fluid. Fortunately, I'm not in any pain.

Thanks again for all of your replies. I really appreciate the advice! Take care.

Nope, you can get these at most larger health and vitamin stores....
Supposedly, they do work pretty good. Worth a try before the docs maybe...
