I am looking for someone to check out my experiences and see if they have heard of any similar.

When I was a child, around 4-6 years of age I remember waking to an extraordinary fizzing din. It was scary and actually caused my hairs to stand on end. All I remember is that I could hear and partially see lots of white noise. There were symbols or letters forming and disipating all the time. I was pretty scared.

The 2nd time it happened I was about 10-12 years of age. I remember the daytime and me and a close friend had been studying German from a phrase book for about 3 hours solid. I can imagine this set it off again. I wake up to the horrible white noise, like a wave of sound and the symbols, writing, scribbling etc. all over my vision. I managed to settle by watching TV in my room. After 5 mins and everything back to normal I turned off the TV and within 2 minutes the noise was back in full effect.

I studied what was happening and realised that if I just turned on the radio with no volume the noise and hallucinations went. I've never had that happen again and am glad of the fact.

Now I've read stuff on Astral Projection and some of the methods talk about focusing then going to the point just before sleep. They also say when you know your dreaming within the dream then your at the point you can project yourself. Apparently you are more likely to be able to do this if you can dream and know your dreaming to alter it.

I've managed to break free of the story that is dreaming, on several occasions. However mostly I change the dream and have control for a few minutes (you cant measure time whilst dreaming) and then fall back into story mode and have no control.

I've dreamt of flying regularly although that stopped with adolescence.

I've woken in my tiny bedroom to my albino hamster sniffing around the middle of the room and looking at me. It had died 2 months previously. I was confused, thought about the possibility that it was an albino mouse. Not a chance, my hamster had been much bigger than a mouse and that was definately my hamster.

I moved on the bed and it ran behind the wardrobes. Now this wardrobe was a flimsy thing, and I got my mother out of bed and made her come look. I made sure I hadn't left the door open so it could escape. For 30 minutes we checked everything for signs of nesting or a hole or the hamster itself. There was nothing and I was forced to give up.

After going to bed the apparition returned and I ended up ignorning it til i fell asleep. I am thinking something like I woke on another plane, like id projected somehow. I had definately had my mother awake searching and she'll testify any time, so the whole thing wasn't a dream. Maybe something to do with what was affecting me as a kid.

I've heard that meditation can cause astral projection, and I think he meditates without realising sometimes. Maybe he experienced the precursor to projection?

Anyway, if anyone can explain the white noise id much appreciate it. The hamster story and flying, controlling dreams are something else I hope.

I never had anything quite like that before. When I was young however, after my grandfather had died, I would be in a sort of half asleep, half awake and yet dreaming. I would see my grandfather sitting on the edge of my bed watching me sleep, but now that I am older, I would describe the feeling as being almost drunk. So dizzy it was like the room was circling but I could clearly see what was going on.

However I have had nothing like what you describe, and astral projection is something I have experienced first hand, and I can't describe it as anything like that. The biggest clue you have in there, is the silent radio. I would suspect the radio waves to disrupt whatever it is that was nagging at you. To me it sounds like someone from the other side was trying to get a hold of you and couldn't succeed. I wouldn't be surprised if you had focused more on that, that you would have become a psychic. However things like that disappear with age, as you have already confirmed.

Thanks for the reply. I've researched a lot about altered consciousness states and a lot of both drug and mystical induced states and the point at which you lose your ego, which some describe as Astral Projection, has a distinct noise much like a chainsaw. As the frequency gets faster the noise gets louder. I thought maybe this is the kind of thing I experienced could have been the onset of Astral Projection or some other altered state.

The fact I could see symbols and writing and felt disturbed by this, I'll put down to an altered state.

I´ve had this happend to me twice actually. When I was around 5-6 years old, I remember waking up in my living room (where I had fallen asleep watching cartoons) and waking up to these dancing smiling sunflowers. I ran over to them but they vanished.

The second time is a bit more blurry and scary. I was around 7-8 when this happend and we lived in a very small apartment. The apartment had a long narrow hallway with a bathroom on the end on the right hand side. I think I was outside playing in the park with my mom (the park was right outside our apartment) and I needed to use the bathroom. I went inside and suddenly on the walls of the narrow hallway "cartoony" octopus tentacles and ghostly arms were reaching out of the walls trying to get me. Needless to say I ran to my mom and told her what had happend. Although she doesn´t believe me (even to this day she looks at me like I´m stupid) but I swear, it scared me good.

I may have had it on another occastion when I was quite young. (3?) where I was sitting in the park with a frizbee playing like it was a car. Suddenly I find myself driving some old car from the 30´s with a young woman in white and a pretty white dress waving at me as I was driving past a very old street with cobblstone houses/buildings.

But then again, as children we can see/hear things other older people can. We also have a very active imagination so it wouldn´t surprise me if it was just all in my head. (although at age 3 I had no idea how the 30s looked.)

I've often heard a loud click on waking. Or when I've just nodded off for a second. It's a very mechanical sound. I've heard explosions too. I heard an explosion while wide awake once. Like something from the A-team but just near my head.

Once when I was trying to sleep (without the required amount of alcohol that I now need) I kept hearing a loud screaming whenever I drifted off. Happened several times. It wasn't a person screaming. Again it was of the pitch and sound something mechanical would make.

I think I may have used my tin foil hat to cook a chicken with.

Thanks for the responses. I'm afraid I wont be purchasing any CD's your site toasted, I want genuine answers not generic positive thinking courses. I've started meditating and have noticed on several occasions the vibratory noises and feelings getting louder although no visual hallucinations.

I will keep looking I suppose. thanks.

it was your guardian programming your young mind to accept that messages can be sent to us from the beyond on white noise. It was simply a programming thing to condition your mind. When you switched on the radio the problem stopped. That was your guardian letting you know that the radio was the solution. It's the white noise of a radio that the beings use to send messages. You should try using white noise to get some messages from your guardian maybe. I think you need to tune the radio to white noise and ask the spirits to make contact and then tape the white noise for a while. There are sites with more info.

So I just think it was your guardian programming your young intelligence to accept the concept that messages can be sent on white noise.

I've had similar experiences - not exactly the same but pretty close.

First I remember when I was between 4-6 I use to hear the white noise so loud it was scary... cant remember much else happening when I was that young though.

When I was about 21 I had sleep paralysis (or something similar), I became aware while my body was sleeping and I could not move as much as I tried. I heared music in my ears, it felt like I was tuned into a radio station... then I was wondering the house - but only by senses, my body was till in bed unable to move.

Not exactly the same but some things are similar - I think things like this are caused by a splitting of counciouness... ie the sleeping on and the awake one - the mind jumps between the 2 so fast it seems like one.... hmm, dont really know.

I suspect nobody can give 100% accurate answers as to what happened... but the more people share similar experienced then the better the understanding.

I have somthing similar going on, though it used to happen to me more when i was younger. Right as i woke up i would see my father and my brother looking at me but they were dark, like they were in a shadow. Then i would keep looking and they would disapear. It used to happen to me a lot back then, now it only happens every once in a while but it doesnt always seem like my father anymore...

well trojan,

there's more to silva

than you understand

but that's ok.

perhaps some carlos casteneda

is more what you are looking for.

But , I don't think you'll get

an AHA moment

til you've asked alot of questions

and entertained a variety of possibilities

from many good sources.

good luck
