Stan Laurel - Clint's Dad?

This was mentioned on a radio programme here the other week as a persistent rumour (not as fact). This was the first time I'd heard it and my first reaction was that it was rubbish.

Then I got to thinking - the ages are about right, they're both tall and there is a similarity in the chin / mouth - not compelling evidence I know.

Has anyone else heard this - any Clint experts out there who know if it's ever been discussed by the man himself / given any credence at all.

As Stan was a Brit it'd be nice if clint was bit Brit too

Im sorry but I dont even see the superficial resemblance. They dont have any similar facial features .. in my eyes at least!
