It's basically just pepper spray but rather then using liquid it has a kind of a mouse/foam texture which is harder to remove of the face and is supposed to provide a better knock-down effect on the attacker.

The main difference between this and the regular type is that with this becuase it's foam when the attacker tries to wipe it of his face all he does is just rub the foam arround causing even more of a pepper effect on him which disables him even more. It covers more of the face unlike normal pepper spray which is just liquid and you have to pray that the liquid hits them in the eye or vaporises and causes an effect on them with pepper foam it evenly covers there face with the foam which will itself cover there eyes and make it difficult for them to see and on top of that it also contains the active ingredients of pepper spray making it more effective overall.

Persoanlly if i was to but a pepper spray type product i would always go for the foam versions. Too bad in my country pepper spray if banned.

I'll have two dozen cans of the pepper foam in regular AND patchouli scented please!

This is awesome stuff. Forget trying to punch someone in the face, I'm just gonna whip out my aerosol equalizer and foam anybody who steps in front of me at Starbucks!

Now, if you made it so someone could breathe through it but still be covered by it, that'd be cool. Kinda like instant drying pepper cement.

Just an idea.

pepper foam is cool but think of this before you stock up if you spray your attacker with it, it is very possible the foam itself can be flung back at you thus defeating the purpose of it. i highly recommend getting training with the stuff before you use it for some simple reasons: 1 you can blind a person with it
2 you will get back spray from it
3 if you use it you may have to justifiy it in court ( CYA)

btw i have been sprayed with law enforcement grade pepper spray which is an oil base product as opposed to a water based civilian product (willingly) and it took 2 days before i could go out in the sun, get it out of my hair etc. if you use it wash your hands extremly throughly many times ! ( there is a guy at work who earned the title " hot link " because he failed to do so. that goes for the ladies out there too

Foam is supposedly the next generation delivery system for OC based defensive products.

Apparently it allows better coverage and is more persistant than a plain liquid jet.

solid streams of OC have the risk of "hydraulic needle effect" on the target's eyes. If you're far enough away to prevent that, pretty much the only risks are the victim's reactions. It won't cause blindness or death by itself, but if the victim starts clawing at thier eyes to remove contact lenses, it can scratch thier eyes pretty bad. If the victim takes on a full panic reaction, and runs into traffic, well, death may occur.

I am a security guard at a major sports bar. I have had to Spray people 3 times during my job. The first time i had a liquid spray, the spray gets EVERYWHERE. It knocked me out of the fight too. second and third time i had foam it works mucj\h better at not getting in my face too , thats the ONLY advantage, it doesnt hurt more or it isnt harder to get off .

P.S. YOU CAN NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT (get that?) BLIND SOMEONE PERMANANTLY WITH PEPPER-SPRAY!

thats what training is for, i recomend you get some if you are going to continue to carry any weapon. training from Controled Force involves not only being sprayed yourself, but having to demonstrate an ability to properly use M.A.C.H. holds with the stuff still on your face. it also lets you know just how it feels, and after a full shot in the eye, you will never want to spray your worst enemy unless you absolutely have to.

We used the Sabre Red type (red meaning it has actual cs gas as well as OC) wich uses 50 different types of peppers to include the habenaro. it was the third time i had been sprayed and I have been through a few gas chambers in the army and this stuff was the worst I have been hit with.
It was a foam with an invisible to the eye uv dye that made identification of the subject possible with a black light even after washing it off.

Yes you can. if you spray too close to your subjects face it can blind them. another reason you should get training and know what you are doing before continuing to carry that stuff.

that's a hazard with the stream types, but he says he's using foam now, so no worries.

The dye sounds like a great idea, but CS as well? WOW! Then again, there are those rare individuals who can be sprayed with OC and be no more bothered than if you hit them with a squirt gun.

I recieved a shot of CS years ago, and found it extremely unpleasent. Maybe not entirely debilitating, but certainly enough to make you a lot less capable of putting up a good fight. OC is definately worse from the recieving end. while through sheer force of will you can mostly fight through it, some of it's effects are not able to be worked around. I'd prefer to use Pepper spray to using CS any day.
