Superheroes? (real life superpower related)

not sure if i should have put this in paranormal studies or not as super powers thread is there, but I also was thinking batman style masked vigilante.

anyone know of any real life attempts at being a superheroe? costume, fighting crime, stopping muggers, that kind of thing. I'd be surprised noone in real life ever actually tried it seeing all the comic books, videogames, and movies with superheros, and they wouldn't nessicerily need powers, they could easily be like batman and just be very smart, and very good fighters. and if there were, any of them seem to have any success?
