Question about blue beetle

I have a question about the new blue beetle comic. In the first three issues, Jaime references helping Superman save the world, and we still don't know exactly what the suit is doing to him, also, Jaime talks about the superheros hating him. Are we going to find out more about this is later issues or is there a backstory that I am missing?

P.S. I am new to reading comics, so I don't know that much about them/old storylines.
