if it aint broke DONT fix it

yea i got a question how come the layout of ats has to change? i mean it looked cool before and yes it looks cool now but really WHY fix it if it aint broke? people dont complain about the layout do they? i mean if your gonna change the layout of ats make a really neat lay out and stick with it, it aint broke.

what do ya think ppl??

I am not a doctor, I just play one on TV. I agree, but I think without knowing why, that sometimes they change things for technical reasons. ATS has had issues of growth for some time now and bandwidth has been a reason for a lot of changes to how the site functions. I don't lose sleep over this, but I know that like all things I see each day, I have to adjust my likings to what I get. Maybe Simon G. will pop on this post and tell you or maybe you could post this in board questions and business??

Either way, it still works just as well and it keeps you on your toes, right?

It's all about innovation. One day, back in the 80's, someone cut off their Mullet, and were told "Woah man, what the hell are you doing, mullets are THE HAIRCUT!" but alas, looking back, we all know that he was right to cut it off, because the mullets were coming to an end.

Watch it buster! According to my theory, recent pop culture repeats itself every 25-30 years. Mullets will be the thing again in the years 2010-2020, depending on what apocolyptic scenario you believe wont end us all first.

Actually this had already been discussed. But I'll put my 2 cents here, anyway.

The Layout change was to reduce the page load times for those members like me with a slow dialup connection. By reducing the amount of images loaded. All of those cute little buttons were GIF images, btw.

Speaking from personal experience, the load times have been reduced dramatically.

But I do miss the buttons.

so from what i hear every time theres a little problem like "load times" or "post times" then the WHOLE layout has to be changed to fix it?

wouldnt it be alot easier, faster, simpler to just fix the one problem and leave the rest of the site alone? sounds to me like somebody has too much time on their hands...
