I'm just finished studying about Napoleon in history class. I was just wondering, do you think he really should of been exiled? Keep in mind that he
did aggressively take over lands in Europe, but also, he was exiled without a trial. His battles and campaigns cost hundreds of thousands of loss in
lives, but yet, he was only defending his own country. It's somewhat of a controversial topic to historians.
Contrary to popular belief, he did NOT shoot off the nose of the Sphinx. The urban legend arised around the beginning of the 20th century. European
travelers to Egypt before Napoleon came to Egypt have described the Sphinx as vandalised, so people before him have too aim at it. Also, Arabic texts
and historians have attributed the loss of the Sphinx's nose to some fanatical Muslim ruler who pried it off with a crowbar or something like
that.
