The Telegraph.

The project is codenamed Zirzamin 27, and its purpose is to enable the Iranians to undertake uranium enrichment to military standard. Zirzamin means “basement” in Farsi, which suggests the laboratories are underground and 27 refers to the 27-year-old Iranian revolution.

This is a truly alarming development,” said a senior western diplomat working with the IAEA. “This evidence indicates that the Iranians remain committed to developing nuclear weapons, despite their claims to the contrary that their nuclear ambitions are entirely peaceful.”

I sence the propaganda machine firing up. Can anyone say a preemptive strike by Irsrael again? Anyone remember Iraq?

Would this secret site also be housing Iraq WMD which can be launched in 45 minutes?

What really amazes me is how many of these types of stories have popped up in the last few months yet none of them have produced anything which could be used against Iran.

Breaking New :

Iran has also just kidanped Santa Claus becuase he is a Infidel Soldier and has taken him to this secret location and put him in the exact same room as where they are hiding Iraq's WMD.

Seriously though i think the west have some serious ceribility problems since the stunt they pulled in Iraq. They really shot themselves in the foot there. And alot of countries arn't really going to be up for any more wars atleast for the next 10-20 years especially with a country with a millitry as powerful as Iran's who have the capabilitry to project there power for atleast 2500km with missiles and guerilla forces.

Cmon if you have someone threatening to bomb your facilities of course you are going to be forced to hide it and place it as far underground as possible just as a backup in case they blow up the above ground plants.

Presumably all US nuclear weapons facilities are sign-posted / their locations communicated to the Chinese / Russians etc??

Propoganda for the gullible / knuckle-draggers

Presumably the only way to be sure is to invade

Edit - lousy spillyng

I agree with ThePieman completely. If your an evil dictator (like the president of Iran) and your goal in life is to blow up the world in 45 minutes then of course you are going to bury the WMD's underground in some deep secret labyrinth of evil. There you and your holy men will be able to perfect Satan's bomb as you perform human tests on unsuspecting Israeli men, woman and children. Then when world peace talks have collapsed you will be able to demand a ransom of a billion, billion dollars or else Big Ben, the White House, Sydney Opera House (and of course the wailing wall of Bethlehem) will become symbols of the past.

Personally if I had been writing this story I would have called the base "Infidel 27" rather than some tongue bending "Zirzamin 27".
Perhaps Iran has such a base? The trouble is that Western government in general have a credibility problem. Which brings me to wonder if any of our leaders have read that story called "Crying Wolf"? And if they had is he really such a bad Wolf anyway? Because it's that (and not the Wolf) that seems to summon questions on Western policy throughout history.
