Islam's justified terrorist atrocities.

I always hear politicians saying true Islam is a peaceful religion. I downloaded a Qur'an and found that according to Islams holiest book these terrorist's are justified by there religion for the atrocities they commit.

"Slay the idolaters wherever you find them. ... lie in ambush everywhere for them. If they repent and take to prayer and render the alms levy, allow them to go their way ..." (9:5)

"Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God�s religion shall reign supreme" (8:39)

"Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to
disgrace, and assist you against them and heal the hearts of a believing people."(9:14)

"O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends;
they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend,
then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."(5:51)


It's not that I hate Muslims. But rather that I am troubled by what I read from their most holy book, which they must obey.

I think Islam has an agenda for world domination and according to them they have permission from Allah in the Qur'an to take it by force . . . . It's spreading!

Well to be quite honest, arabs have been completely screwed by both of these religions. Especially in Palestien.

You have just did the same thing terrorist leaders do, you have taken 4 lines completely out of context, out of a book with 114 chapters and a few 1000 lines, to prove your point. The same lines are used by terrorist leaders to justify their actions to ILLITERATE followers who cannot read qur'an and see for themselves that there is much more to it and that lines are completely out of context.

Islam IS a peaceful religion.

First, idolworshippers are NOT christians and jews, those two are People of the Book or mumin, believers. Islam's official policy is that all monotheistic religions come from one source and therefore they are all right religions. Qur'an mentions several times Torah and Evangelium as word of God. According to my knowledge Jews and Christians have never aknowledged Islam as religion that comes from the same God they believe in.

Sura 9 you quoted is talking about war with unbelievers ( idolworshippers) and a peace treaty THEY have broken. It says:
9:4 "If the idol worshipers sign a peace treaty with you, and do not violate it, nor band together with others against you, you shall fulfill your treaty with them until the expiration date. GOD loves the righteous. "

if they violate the treaty and ATTACK you are allowed to defend yourself and kill them. The ONLY murder allowed in Islam is the one is self defence and in course of justice ( aka death punishment, but you got to have a whole load of evindence before you do that).

The verse 5:31 you quoted is actually missing a word, somebody forgot to translate it. it says "Do not take CERTAIN Jews and Christians as friends, they are.....", which is true. Why would you take as friends those who conspire against you, fight crusades against you, call you a lower evil religion. Why would you want to be friends with them?. True Muslims are peaceful but not stupid. If I may quote further in the same chapter:
[5:57] "O you who believe, do not befriend those among the recipients of previous scripture who mock and ridicule your religion, nor shall you befriend the disbelievers. You shall reverence GOD, if you are really believers."

It only says do not befriend, it doesnt say anything abut fighting war, attacking, killing, just do not befriend.

Also a bit further in the same chapter:

[5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the converts, and the Christians; any of them who believe in GOD and believe in the Last Day, and lead a righteous life, have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

Clearly an acceptance of both Christians and Jews as believers.

Therefore, Islam in no way allowes any kind of suicide attacks, terrorists are clearly misleading the folowers into thinking that they should indeed fight the Jews and Christians in a way they do, and Islam is in its basic a peaceful religion. You have to read the Qur'an as a whole, the whole book including te background of why and when certain chapters were revealed, because some of them address the isues Muhammad had to face while trying to esablish a monotheistic religion amongst idolworshipers.

Now did you really download a Qur'an? Or did you just find an anti-Muslim website and copy a half-dozen quotes to slander the Muslim religion?

Slandering a religion-and by extension the people that practice that religion- is nothing more than bigotry.

And Croft, yes I did really download a Qur'an. I did half cheat though and found an article that listed those verses, but the point of me downloading a Qur'an was so I could check it out for my self.

And the Lord says:
