WASHINGTON, DC (KNX) -- The Senate Intelligence Committee has voted to confirm General Michael Hayden as the new Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. On a vote of 12 to 3, the committee's approval sends the matter to the full Senate floor, where a vote is expected before the body recesses for Memorial Day.

The White House has made it known that they would like to have Hayden confirmed and sworn in as director before outgoing CIA chief Porter Goss leaves the job on Friday.

Hayden sat for eight hours of intense questioning by members of the Intelligence Committee during open and closed sessions last week.

Im worried about this guy personally. I think its getting ever closer to a military owned government. He is just one more piece of the puzzle. I wonder why people would want a former NSA director, military man, running a civilian agency.
