Downing Street has confirmed that Tony Blair first went to Stoke Mandeville Hospital from his Chequers residence after complaining of feeling "a little under the weather".

The 50-year-old, who has never suffered heart problems before, was advised to go London's Hammersmith Hospital, where he was found to have an irregular heartbeat.


Two schools of thought from elsewhere:

1. Business as usual, just signs of stress, he will carry on with the PM job as normal.

2. It paves the way for resignation on the basis of medical reasons, just a little face-saving.



Haven't heard much about Cheney's ticker lately.

A way of paving the way for Gordon Brown and saving face it could be.

Sounds like too much stress on the job.

sounds like maybe it could be a sign to get some new government around here. Although the problem is that all the other parties in this country are absoloutely dreadfull too, both with weak leaders. I'm gunna have to vote for the green party.

I was in england during the iriq crisis.. the pictures in the paper of blair showed clearly a troubled man who had to make difficult choices. I think if blair didnt go to war, something terrible would have happened to make the brittish scream for revenge and begged for war with iraq.

Maybe the stress of being a complete liar is finally taking its toll.

But then again, it could very well be a convenient way for him to leave office. I've maintained all along the reason Blair went along with Bush on Iraq - knowing it was political suicide - was because he was being blackmailed.

Could be normal stress. It happens, hell, look at Bush SR puking all over Japans PM......look how fast Klinton aged. Stress is normal, so generally, its nothing amazing here, however,

There is always a possibility of something more going on than meets the eye. Just as Blair is now working hard to try and move away from NATO and more EU.....and Bush is probably none to happy. Poison? A sort of attack?

I have heard the p[ossibility of Blair being blackmailed into the war, and I wouldnt doubt it, what else would make a leader of a powerful EuropeaN country turn into a spineless wimp overnight?

The question I have is......what would they have on him to blackmail him with? Surely not some stupid affair or mistress, would need much more than that, wouldnt they?

Perhaps he is suddenly under stress, because his sudden attempt to throw in with the EU, did he recieve a most dreaded phone call warning him of what could happen if he didnt obey like a good wimp? Has a threat been made clear to him and suddenly, he got quite ill and pale?

This is all REALLY interesting. Its beginnign to stir up some serious changes in certain beliefs I have held about the very nature of total manipulation in this war. I dunno just how principaled a leader he is, or his personal life, but if he was blackmailed, what could they hang over his head so badly that would make him throw his whole country into this #ing mess? Is this Illuminati at work? Was it something he did, or something his whole govornment got caught doing, or a predecessor?

I wish I had a real compuyter with speed to do a little chugging about on a search engine........

How about telling him his wife and children would turn up dead tomorrow.

That would make most people toe the line.

Lets face it there are many organisations with the power to do this.

The thing is.....

Europe tends to be alot less homphobic than the US, thus, Im not sure revelations of Blair being possibly a switch hitter and having young boys in leather to play with would be quite enough to tarnish him, or incite such fear.

There has to be something more that would make him this gutless.......

Yes, something to that effect. Having to do with people very close to him. It came out back when his wife, Cherie Blair was having her own scandal before the war. Anyone remember that? If I can, I'll dig that stuff up.

This is actually a rather common ailment...

Contrary to Mr. Blair though, this is usually aggravated/brough on by elevated stress... One can hardly imagine anyone who'd have more stress than Mr. Blair...

As the article mentioned though, most recoveries go off without a hitch, and I suspect it will be the same for the PM....

Yes. Totally. Kiddie Fiddlers.. I just wonder if it was BushCo. behind the blackmail.. or elements of the MOSSAD. At any rate, I think the highest levels.. i.e. the Bilderbergers et.al. are all a bunch of FROCKIN whackjobs. Ever hear about all the missing kids from DSS in Florida? I think it has to do with the sex-slave-ring serving those at the highest levels of our government and probly the same in Britland. Something similar: Remember when Princess Diana's self-serving butler was on trial awhile back, and the Queen came to his rescue in court? It was slipping out that the butler is gay.. his family's a front.. and that one of Prince Charles' servants had raped another male and Charles knew about it. The Queen put a kibosh on it immediately with her appearance. I tell ya, creepy, perverse and unnatural SHYTE is goin on at the highest levels.
