There could be a more terrestrial explanation to the variations of aliens abductees describe.
A MILAB, Psychological Operation could be using different mask to muddy the trail if or when memories are unsupressed. People or so called abductees part of these experiments think they are dealing with many species of alien.

I once heard a theory that the visions abductees have of grey aliens are just a combination of early memories of doctors at birth combined with pop culture images and sleep disorders. I don't necessaruly believe it, but it's an interestin theory.

There is evidence that sort of activity carried over after W.W.II.
It makes you wonder if alien mask are used in a "The Men Who Stare at Goats" scenario. The big eyed alien actually represent at type of hypnosis brain washing method by psyops black budget programs. It might be easier to cover your tracks in performing unethical experiments on people if they think they are being abducted by aliens.

You see it all the time in the movies and in real life. A Robber, an outlaw tries to conceal their idenity somehow because they do not want to be recognised.
