I always wondered how this D- student was able to become president and yet be re-elected, another serious question i like to ask the americans here is are you guys even okay with the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan?, thanks.

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- The outcome of an opinion survey indicates that US President George W. Bush's popularity rate has reached its lowest level which is 29%.

According to the British daily 'Daily Mirror', there are escalating concerns among the American public opinion regarding Bush's policies in Iraq. The survey further shows that 70% of the American public believes that the US is taking steps in the wrong direction and only 23% are of the view that the US is in the right path.

The opinion survey further showed that 60% of the American people are of the view that Bush must offer a timetable for US forces' withdrawal from Iraq.

Gallup is a good source in reflecting on “polls”.

The Cogressional approval rating of 23% (May 2006) (and sliding) which is the lowest in 22+ years which, btw, are lower than Bush’s. (according to Gallup April 30, 2006, 34% approval in job and 39% have a favorable opinion of Bush).

According to Gallup the presidential rating have less to do with the WOT and Iraq than other issues; however the war in Iraq ranks high in importance with the American people.

Recent examples according to Gallup on how Bush in handling:

The War on Terrorism: 48% approve
Foreign Affairs 33%: approve
Economy 34%: approve
Energy policy: 22% approve
Immigration: 26% approve
Situation in N. Korea: 42% approve
Situation in Haiti: 50% approve

But in relation to Iraq and this comment

40% approve of the war in Iraq (Gallup April 2006) and:

1. Most Americans support the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, but there is only limited support for an immediate withdrawal (there is also only limited support for increased troop levels).
2. Americans are divided on whether the United States should institute a timetable for withdrawal, or stay until it has achieved all its goals. When asked, Americans seem to prefer keeping troops for only about another year, but they expect troops to be there longer than that.

His average was C+. This means his college grades were better
than John Kerry's which averaged a C. Neither were exceptionally
bright college students. Calling him a D- student is misleading.

He was able to be reelected because the dems put John Kerry up
against him. Kerry would have been WORSE for America.

Of course.

Afghanistan was the homebase of UBL and the terrorists who hit us
on 9/11. They started a war against us. We hit back. It's their own
fault that we went into Afghanistan.

Iraq had to be liberated. The UN looked the other way because the
security council members were more interested in getting their illegal
billions from Saddam (all stolen from Iraqis) than stopping the
slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people by Saddam.

I am not only 'okay' with Afghanistan and Iraq ... but I support both
completely. Liberating Iraq was poorly executed ... but it was needed.

BUSH has a low approval rating of around 32% depending on which
source you go to. Only 4 presidents have had lower approvals in
recent times. Truman, Nixon, Carter and Bush 41. His low approval
rating isn't because he struck back at the terrorists in Afghanistan.
If you ask anyone who voted for him instead of John Kerry and who
doesn't approve of him now ... they will almost always tell you that
they disapprove of him because of two things - he hasn't done anything
about the big oil companies and he hasn't secured our boarders against
the illegal immigrant invasion.

However, even though I disapprove of his job performance I'd still
vote for him over John Kerry. Kerry would have been 10 times worse.
The election of 2004 in America was bad (Bush) vs very bad (Kerry).

2008 will be better. The choices that are coming to the front of the pack
are better qualified. Guliani, Frist, McCain for the republicans and of
course the Dems have Hillary out in front by a huge margin with Biden
following behind (he'll be Hillary's Secretary of State, that's my guess).

Guliani is 'America's Mayor'. He was in NYC on 9/11 and had to run for
his life. We don't have to worry about him going soft and forgetting.
He is strong in defense and liberal with social issues. He's my first
choice in 2008. But I do think Hillary will be elected.
