In my country - Poland - possesion of guns without the licence of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is forbidden, and if to believe the Police Head Command, the murder rate is the lowest in the world - the Police Head Command claims that the murder rate per 100,000 people is 0.31806.

can you get hunting guns, or guns for home defense???

The weapon laws are different from state to state. To be honest i don't think the laws in the US are much loser then in other countries. It doesnt really matter where you are in the world, if you want a gun/rifle/shotgun/etc you can get legally or illegal. Sometimes you gotta "work" for your weapon, but it shouldn't be a problem if you arent a criminal or something

EDIT: By reading this thread i do realise that some weapons cant be purchased legally in some countries.
