IF(that's A big IF) War broke out between the U.S., Australia, U.K. and China what would Russia do?

Since we hear the term "Overextended" in the media so much these days I thought I might think up a potential "retaliatory" war in response to an Attack on Iran.

The question I pose is, if, The U.S. Au, and the U.K. attack Iran and China attacks us in response which side would Russia side with?

I truly have no idea what would happen?
My one thought was Russia would probably side with China?

That would make it the U.S., Au, and the U.K. against Iran, China, and Russia?

China won't side with Iran. We're their biggest economic partner. If they fight us, they'd lose over 75% of their income. Foreign trade would be shot out the window too. They'd be out of money inside of a couple weeks. Talk about overextended. China would be hanging themselves out to dry.

true, foreign trade for China would be in shambles. However, if China successfully beat the U.S. and allies, China would become the world's only superpower at whcih time they would make the rules on foreign trade.

What do you think is more important for the political and military leaders of China, strong international trade, or superseeding the U.S. as the worlds only superpower?

Could a communist country operate without money during a time of war if it had to?

China is too dependant on us for the things they need. They're strapped as it is now for resources. We provide for them what they need. The situation between the US and China is an example of a symbiotic relationship. They need us, and we need them. They need our money, and we need their cheap labor. It's been made way too easy for them to exist for them to attack us. It would serve them no purpose.

Just my ramblings though. Take from it what you will.

I just don't understand why a communist country that has MANY more resources than the US and has a greater labor pool than the US would need our help if they are communist?

Maybe it is better put, why can't commies write IOU's??

Because as soon as they start writing IOU's, they become slaves to those that they wrote them to. I think they tried that, which is why we're in the position we are at the moment.

Besides, China's not been interested in domination in the past 500 or so years. They don't have any interest in doing that anymore. They have all they need to survive, except our money. They need that.

Above all China is interested in one thing right now- Oil. Their economy is growing with an unmatched momentum, even the government is unable to stabilize it. However to keep it up they need oil and lots of it- otherwise they will experience a strong economic downfall, much like in the US in the 70's. 10 years ago China was a net exporter of oil. Now it's the second largest importer after the US. In less than 10 years it will overtake US as the largest importer. Meanwhile oil resources are hardly meeting demand as it is.

Incidentally US's primary concern is also oil. Same case with EU. This spells out a beautiful scenerio for what the future wars will look like. China and US wrestling over control of oil exporting states.

As for Russia, no reason for it to get involved. Other than selling military tech. and energy resources to China, Russia is not interested in helping it. it has its own interests, and it had its own local conflicts with China over land in the far East and polution. Russia would much rather watch from the sidelines as China and US take each other on, while gathering strengh itself.

My guess, Russia will stay neutral. The Russians will also propably sell weapons to the Chinese/Iranians but then sell intellagance/plans to the USA/UK. O wait osmeone said that... well ya just my 2 rubels.

Russia regaining the lead politically worldwide??? I doubt it. They can't maintain the current military infrastructure they have right now, let alone make any advancements in that area. They'd have to have something to offer first, before anyone will be interested. Kind of hard to offer something when you don't have anything to offer.

Side with the US, they know we win, unless our leaders roll over like in Vietnam. Bt Bush can't roll over, he knows he is a bad president so wants to look tough by staying the course no matter what.

China trades more with Europe than with the US, so it would lose about 40% of its international trade.

China buys 50% of US debt, so its the uS that owes China, not the other way around.

CHina has no interest in warmongering, read their history. Its the US that the world is watching carefully, not China. NObody knows what exactly is going through the mind of this white house, few decisions are making sense.

Shouldn't that be an alert to those that are watching that those on Capitol Hill are no longer in control of things anymore?
