Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written to U.S. President George Bush in a letter proposing "new solutions" to their differences, a government spokesman said Monday.
Ahmadinejad proposes "new solutions for getting out of international problems and current fragile situation of the world," Elham said at a news conference.
Reports say this is the first time in 27 years that an Iranian president has written to his U.S. counterpart.
The letter will reportedly be delivered on Monday, via the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, which has a U.S. interests section.
The contents of the letter will not be made public until Bush has received it, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told the ISNA students news agency.
