DeLay Has Hard Time Explaining Away Abramoff's Involvement in Trips

Incriminating e-mails allegedy demonstrate Lobbyist Jack Abramoff financed former Texas Congressman Tom DeLay's golfing excursion in England and Scotland. In fact, the electronic missives expressed "concern" about being investigated. Although lawyers from Mr. Delay's camp say that the ex-Representative did not do anything wrong, prosecutors believe the papers filed for the trip were false.



When you think that all has been said and done about the Congressman from Texas, more and more things continue to spill out. Each thing that comes up pointing toward Mr. DeLay's wrongdoing institutes a pattern of abuses against the system. This should make people feel outraged about rampant corruption and abuse of our representatives.

The jury is still out on whether Mr. DeLay is proven guilty or not, but this story gives a good indication which side of the scale is tipped.

Is anyone surprised that connections have been found between Tom DeLay's office and Jack Abramoff? Are you further convinced that Huntsville might be the only place Mr. DeLay is going after his trial? To think of it, they don't golf there, do they?

This should make people feel outraged about rampant corruption and abuse of our representatives.

I wouldn't mind abusing some of our representatives--lord knows they have abused the taxpayers enough.

I don't think it really matters whether or not the man is guilty--technically. The appearance of guilt is all that's needed in his position.

I came across another interesting tidbit about finances and Mr. DeLay. It seems that the same backer of the Swift Boat Veterans is also funding the former Texas Representative's Legal Defense fund. Fancy that:

Rep. Tom DeLay raised more money to pay legal fees after abandoning any effort to return as majority leader than he did in the immediate months following his indictment in Texas last year on money laundering charges.

DeLay, R-Sugar Land, received lots of help in boosting his legal defense fund from Texas financiers of Republican causes, corporations and fellow members of Congress. But he spent as much as he raised during the first three months of 2006.

One contributor was Houston home builder Bob Perry, the chief financial backer of Swift Boat Veterans of Truth, which campaigned against Democrat John Kerry in the 2004 presidential race. Perry and his wife, Doylene, contributed a total of $10,000 to DeLay's legal fund.

Delay along with Grover Norquist and Rick Sanitarium (yes I know how his name is spelt, I like my version though ) have been in the forefront of the push by the hard right to establish a one party state in this country...Delay's illegal texas district redistbution project and Norquist's K Street project are all part of the same pattern of marginalizing Democrats and liberals or forcing them from the halls of power all together. In case no one has the cojones to connect the dots, those actions along with Bushes repeated power grabs constitute nothing less than an attempted one party take over of the country, i.e. a coup by rigging elections. Now both parties attempt this but it has never been done on such a scale and so baldly in this country. Might as well call a spade a spade, such behaviour is treason in that it is a blatent circumvention of the constituitions system of checks and balances and it is treason because it is an attempt to sieze power and to keep it. If Delay falls mark my word, that rat will SQUEALSQUEALSQUEAL and it will be interesting to see who he drags down with him. Too bad the democrats don't have any backbones anymore, its rather pathetic watching invertabrates try and stand up.
