She herself never actually said "I think it is an angel's feather". She simply said that she was finding feathers, and tied it to her mother's death. So though she never actually said "angel feather", she more-or-less implied it. Then she talked about how she told a friend, and they told her about angels leaving feathers, etc. She gave me the impression that her dead mom was leaving her long white feathers, so that's the leap of faith that I took, as "angels" seem more likely to leave feathers than "ghosts". I don't know if she believes angels have feathers, if she believes in angels at all, or if she thinks her mother is an angel.

An Angel Named Tom

Are some turkey feathers naturally white? I found one when I went hunting with my uncle, and it's not pure white, as much as white with little flecks of brown all throughout it. Maybe craft stores bleach them white before they sell them *shrug*.

Wild turkeys tend to have feathers of many different colors, mainly shades of brown and black, with some lighter colors, but not much white.

Domestic turkeys, on the other hand, often have mostly or entirely white feathers, depending on the breed, and can indeed be bleached or dyed for hobbyist use.

Fig. 1: Could these be angels?

Just teasing about the photo caption, by the way.

I think Nygdan raised some pretty good questions about the entire premise of "angel feathers", and recommend skepticism in this case as in any other. Odds are that these feathers are appearing for a reason that is probably not supernatural.

But hey, you never know. ^

I can honestly say that I have never seen a pure white turkey, even in captivity. That's truely weird. It must be an American thing
. I can pretty much rule out that it came from a turkey in this area. Thanks for the insight anyway. The caption was hilarious. ANGELS IN DISGUISE.

"Yeah, everyone's heard of angels, but who's ever heard of a 'Neanderthal?'"

The past year I've been finding some feathers falling, right in front of my eyes and they are pure white now. Before they where kinda gray, but not now.

I have no idea why I keep seeing these feathers. I always look what clothing I'm wearing, to see if I wear something with feathers in/on it. And I never do.

I don't think it's because someone near me died, I only know of my grandmother's death.(13 years ago)

But she never liked me though, she just used to beat the # out of me.

-The Biblical references to angels with wings are generally is somone's ecstatic vision. Otherwise, in normal Bible narrative, people cannot tell an angel from a stranger. Something in Hebrews 11 about entertaining angels unawares . . .

-I always thought the birdy wings were symbolic, of instantaneous, effortless travel through other realms. . . .

-Also, the Bible doesn't portray dead people as becoming angels. Angels are a separate order of creation. So deceased loved ones wouldn't be angels, if you subscribe to the Biblical worldview.

Isaiah 6 talks about angels that have wings. The seraphims have 6 wings. This shows that we know at least some types of angels have wings. I have seen over a hundred angel feathers show up, for the glory of Yeshua/Jesus!
I have pics. of them and vids showing them at:
www.myspace.com/chadleatherby
www.youtube.com/seekerofyhwh
I found this forum post b/c recently about a footlong one appeared in a unique way, and I was wondering if anyone else had seen ones that big, most of them I've seen appear, some out of thin air, were of different sizes, mostly smaller.
But the first one I watched appear out of thin air as I worshiped Yeshua/Jesus!
He gives His angels charge over us (Ps. 91).

Hello. I found this post when looking into a comment made by my daughter last night.
You see, a few days ago we took her to a specialist after having made a couple of trips to our general doctor for complaints of pain in her shoulder. The pain was worsening to the point where we no longer thought it was a sprain, bursitis or something she kept reinjuring.
The specialist ordered an MRI and we found out that the humerus bone in her shoulder was completely infiltrated with a tumor. It is speculated this this was a very rare type of bone tumor that may or may not be a malignancy.
She has a twin sister. No other siblings than the twin. Our family is small and we were all rocked by this finding.
We are currently gathering diagnostic information and will be visiting yet another specialist in a couple of days.
Last night, out of the blue, she says: "I dunno what's up with these feathers! I have been finding random white feathers on me and out of nowhere just appearing just in my hand, everywhere I go. It's got me kinda weirded out."
Mind you this child is 17 and has been such a trooper with this so far. She has handled it with such dignity and confidence with a positive attitude while the rest of us are secretly falling apart at the seams with fear.
So I find this article. And a couple more that mention these feathers coming from Angels.
I am Wiccan and have formal education in theology. I don't view angels as a Christian would but I believe in the existance of spirit guides and spirits that protect us. I am open-minded. I have been having ceremonial prayer every single day since we found this out.
In light of our situation, and the circumstances, I'll tell you what I believe:
I believe that it doesn't matter what they look like, it's how we each percieve or interpret them within ourselves and fit them into our lives. Whether angels bear feathers, gems, skin flaps, etc....is completely irrelevant to this topic.
I belive that Spirit is with her and these feathers are signs to Her, on Her level of understanding. If the angels know that we believe they have feathers and that is how we associate them, then that is how they will present themselves and what they will show us as a memento of their visit.

-In addition, I feel that the post that started the argument over feathers or not feathers was most disrespectful to the original poster. If you want to speak of that, open another topic altogether or just offer your best opinion, educated or not, and let the original poster get answers and posts from people with something compatible to it and have something to offer besides a blatant challenge to their integrity and interpretation.

Hey there Yarcofin,

That's an interesting account. Not being a Christian I don't believe in Angels in the conventional sense ... but I do believe in Spirit Guides. I have 3 of them, who all serve different purposes (If you want to know more about them you can read the article on my website - link in signature - about how they introduced themselves to me).

But to stay on topic here, it was the second guide who made his presence known that is relevant. He is a North American Indian (YES, I know ... I thought exactly the same thing that you are right now. Everybody and their dog has a N.A.I spirit-guide).
So, let's just say that I had my doubts that this was a real guide (those of you who know me will already be aware that I don't accept anything of this nature blindly).

This being the case I asked for this guides name ... days passed and I got nothing, so I decided to dismiss it as a trick of the mind. It was almost a week later and my then partner, and my two children had been out for several hours walking in the woods at the back of our cottage. The doors had been locked ... there was no-one in the house whilst we were out but when we got home the first thing I saw sitting on the kitchen table was a flight feather from a Tawny Owl.

This feather was certainly not on the table when we'd left the house and locked-up. I picked it up and noticed that the stem was broken near the top, making the tip bend over. At the precise moment I noticed this I was aware of the N.A.I standing at my right shoulder and heard an external whisper in my ear ... 'My name is Broken Feather' ! As I said this was external ... not a voice in my head.

This is a genuine experience but I don't blame you if you find it hard to swallow ... I would myself if it hadn't actually happened to me.

My second strange 'feather experience', happened shortly after I lost my son (who was stillborn). I opened my purse and a white feather literally fell out. I know for a fact that it hadn't been in there previously and no-one else had had access to my purse. So I have no rational explanation for it's appearance, or the inexplicable feeling of comfort that washed over me as it tumbled to my feet. But I can say with complete confidence that it was not down to absentmindedness due to grief.

Woody

I have been blessed with white feathers my whole life, but it wasn't until my family lost a 7 year old child that they became so significant. I believe they are messages sent from Heaven. I have been looking at pictures and thinking about the child who has passed and a white feather will fall from the ceiling. I was talking to her mother one night on the phone and I had something to tell her mother, but I wasn't sure if it was the right time or not and one fell from the ceiling again. I can be thinking of her and get up from my chair and one be laying in it or feel a stick on my body and find a feather stuck in my clothes. Some of you may think it's crazy, but it does happen. Feathers are mentioned in the Bible and my favorite verse is Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

well think of butterflies and dragonflies, etc. the only creatures i know of to have feathers is birds. angels are not material anyway, and the only ones i know of to visit earth were not described in the Bible as having any such thing.

I read a testimony which deal in part with this phenomena. Eventually the author of the book decided that the entity which was leaving feathers around was DEMONIC. I can't remember title of the book but it was written by a girl named Chris and it had a white theatrical mask on the cover with an evil shadow.

Not long after reading the book a pink feather showed up out of no where, which I just ignored.

My advice would be just ignore it. Don't let an emotional need be fulfilled by a spirit, it just gives them a button to press and puts you into bondage. Angels are not manipulative, like that, unless they are fallen.

I think the feathers in the testimony where pink also. perhaps white ones are good. But you should always be warry of these things.

I have had experiences with angels, which I beleive where gods angles, it's nothing to get too excited about.

The 'Peacock Angel' is their symbol for a fallen angel Malik Taus, who is their euphemism for evil or the devil, who they fear and seek to appease. According them evil is part of divinity as is good

I just looked up Malik Taus and found the above. Maybe it explains the pink/coloured feather phenomena.
