so, in PSHE we did this thing, where we had write down a list of what we thought the school rules should be. the next week, our teacher says that they looked at what we did, and they noticed we had "respect to others" at the top. so they have introduced a new rule. at the beginig of ever lesson we have to stand up when the teacher comes in, they then look at our uniform and send us to the head if it is bad.

bascially, they have twisted "respect to others" into "makes your uniform correct". its not fair, its stupid and its a waste of time. we do our work in class, and now because of it we are being penialised.

so, on tuesday (no school on monday, bank holiday) it will be the first day of this new rule. im painting my nails black, and when our tutor comes in im not standing up. non of my friends are. if we are told to go to the head, were gonna go out as a group and complain. everyday. till it stops.

So, you have to wear the correct uniform, whats the big deal?

Just wondering if you actually know for certain whether "respect to others" and ''uniform rule'' are indeed related or whether your simply presuming so.

Ditto. To clear up any confusion, raise your hand and ask the teacher for clarification. Speak up, as civil discouse comes first before action.
The rule respect others is a great one you and your classmates proposed.
Enjoy the holida!

Hmmmm, that does not sound like clarification. Standing up when an authority/elder walks in the room is a sign of repect. Has there been some kind of a problem with condition of uniforms? If you do not understand why the inspection, it would be nice to politely ask why the inspections, so as students are not embarrassingly sent to the head. Pester the teachers for clarification. Can you talk to a head teacher/principal about this matter?
Student input on rules is good, but in turn there could be school rules re dress, for example, that the school wants to see in place. Are these school rules written? Posted? Do you have a copy? I would still hold off on action until you get some more answers. It's kind of like diplomacy to avoid war.

How about you focus on getting good grades and making use of the school, instead of letting the school make use outta you??? High School is a joke, they give you silly rules and make you take stupid tests.

But guess what, its prepartion for real life, where the rules are even sillier and stoopdierier. Why get wrapped up in that inanity? Just focus on the grades to use it all to your advantage, learn from it by learning to 'get over it'.

Like in this case, excellent example. The school gave you the 'oppurtunity' to 'write your own rules', so you guys got together and were all very happy about having some control and drafted a set of reasonable rules for yourselves, and then the school used that to justify measures and rules that they had probably decided on long before you were even give that assignment.

Pretty good eh, they just gave you a lesson in the real world. Now you and your friends are going to serve as another lesson for the rest of the school. You're going to make yourselves look silly (painting your nails black), and 'walk out' of class 'in protest'. Everony is going to realize that, really, you're just messing around and want to skip out on class (high school "walk outs" ain't exactly new man), and the school is going to confront you, your parents are going to be pressured to confront you, and you are going to give in, thus the rest of the school will see that it doesn't make much sense to cause trouble over silly rules that you made up for yourself anyways. Thats how its going to be presented anyhow.

my half way report looked something like this -

A*,A,A,A,B and more As

Straight As for all of my lessons (except Maths, B. but its a nutoriously hard test). im predicted an A* in my Systems...i got one in my mocks...

as for 'walk out in protest', im not going to 'walk out'. im going to go out if i am sent out and talk to the head about it.

Painting your nails black would make you look kindov dumb to be honest. Just mess with your uniform, pull up your sleeves, do whatever to your uniform that you have been forbiden to do.
