Hello all,

The following two columns represent the bending moments that the crust is subjected to by the sun's orbital gravitational forces .. [a bending moment is an engineering term used to describe the magnitude of an external torque (so to speak) that causes an object to bend] .. This data was developed in part in association with the Math dept of MSU using a calculus program called Mathematica.

The first column is in 100 mile increments, measuring vertically from the plane of the ecliptic .

The second column is the magnitude of the corresponding bending moments for each 100 miles of ecliptic latitude. Units are foot pounds

The "+" signs indicate tension

The " - " signs indicate compression

Crustal thicknesses for this data is T=37 Miles

Hello all,

I want to establish the fact that the earth experiences a constant vibration. Then we'll explain it using the principles of the RB-Effect.

At this Live Science website they say (my highlighting):

Tremors deep inside the Earth are usually produced by magma flowing beneath volcanoes, but a new study suggests they can also be produced by the shifting and sliding of tectonic plates.

But like all such news the authors describe what's happening, or what's been detected, but it ends with the all too typical (usually - suggests) speculation. Where are the equations? Where are the physical principles that we can pickup a Physics Book and read about?

The physical principles aren't there because the current understanding has not produced a science that is based on physical principles. There are no equations, and there are no names like Newton, Faraday, James Clark Maxwell, Einstein, Charles and Boyle.

Before you go onward, could you address some of the questions that have been asked of you?

3.] The crust is separated from the inner mantle (not by layers of molten lava) but by two inactive zones, that are pliant in nature. One is the MOHO .. it was discovered years ago and is described in most geology books.

Oookay... about the "Mohorovicic' discontinuity" (Moho) ... what evidence do you have that it's inactive? I find a number of articles that talk about its movement:
adsabs.harvard.edu...

And particularly in light of the movement of the mantle:
www.bookrags.com...

Given that the Mohorovicic Disconuity is the place where the earth's plasticity changes, it's hard to see how you can justify it being inert when the mantle very obviously moves (and volcanos rise through it) and the crust obviously moves.

The second is the "Plastic Zone." This term was coined by Don L. Anderson, in "The Plastic Layer of the Earth's Mantle," Scientific American, July 1962, No 1, Pg. 52-9.

The asthenosphere, which also has motion...
education.yahoo.com...

4.] These two pliant layers give the earth's crust a slight degree of freedom of motion that results in the crust extending toward the sun as the earth turns and the crust sees the first rays of sunlight. This extension toward the sun is quite independent of the inner mantle.

Say what?

We don't have tides in the rocks like we have tides in the ocean. They'd be very noticeable and we'd have noonday earthquates (remember that the Earth is round, and that at sunrise the force is angluar and not at its strongest point (which would be when the sun was overhead.)

I'd like to see some evidence (maybe a bit of math?) of this.

5.] As the earth orbits, being as it is in simultaneous rotation, and being that the rotational axis is tilted at an angle of about 23.5 degrees, the crust is caused to yield and bend in a most un-natural fashion. This causes crustal motions, that are mistakenly called tectonic . They are obviously NOT tectonic - they are solar orbital forces.

Then...

* why aren't there more earthquakes in October-March, when the Earth is actually closer to the sun?
* why do earthquakes occur globally (including at the polar regions)?
* why is a volcano going off in Indonesia right now? volcano.und.edu...
* why do the big earthquakes happen all over the world and at different times rather than following a pattern of sunrise or noon? earthquake.usgs.gov...

1.] We must orient ourselves to the ecliptic .. because all Solar and Lunar gravitational forces and all energy .. apply to the earth along the plane of the ecliptic.

I think there's a huge problem with that theory. The moon, you see, doesn't line up along the ecliptic. Its orbit is even more raised from the ecliptic.

And which ecliptic are you referring to?

Hello Byrd and all,

Byrd wrote] We don't have tides in the rocks like we have tides in the ocean.

bc] Interesting point - but not so! There are many articles on that subject, but one scientific paper is by Kwon & Peters, "The study of Eigenmode Types and Source Non-linearity in the Free Earth Oscillations," Journal of Korea Physics Society, 1995

They wrote:

Periods of those vibrations are correlated with more than ten of known long periods of spheroidal and torsional oscillations of the earth which result from the occurrence of large earthquake. The amplitudes of the fluctuation we have observed are correlated with the lunar synodic period, indication that they are driven by tidal forces.

On periodicy of earthquake: Many of the larger earthquakes occur between early dawn or mid-morning. And few (as in very few) occur at the celestial poles.

Remember - the solar gravitational forces are coming along the plane of the Ecliptic - NOT the equator. So you should be looking at the celestial pole that is normal to the ecliptic - not the geographical pole associated with the axis of rotation.
