War in Space

Check out this website. The United States is saying that they see in the not to near future that we will be waging war in space:

Think how that would affect communications with all the satelites at risk. If everybody started shooting at everybody elses satelites inorder to disrupt military communications everybody would have to break out the bunny ears to watch tv. Even cable TV would be affected.

Forget about TV. How about worldwide financial markets, telephone service, internet, at least 50% of all businesses in the US?

yea, everything would be in turmoil. Hopefully, by that time, the satelittes will actually have armor and be protected so they're not easily destroyed.

Wouldnt need to destroy them, just fire something big and heavy and knock them into deep space. Even if they had missles guarding them it would still be easy. Just throw a lot of stuff at them. Small chunks of metal less than an inch long and would be good enough. Also wouldnt lasers be easier to use in space because air wouldnt defract the particles or something?
