Okay, so I have been saving up (and I got a nice payceck to put me over the top), and for my birthday I am giving myself a PS2 (okay, maybe it is is going to be a couple months early, but anyway).

I have a question to pose to all of you. If price were not to matter, which would you rather get The Godfather, or Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

My dad (whos getting my old PSX) wants me to get GTA, but after looking at the Godfather...I just don't know.

What's your all's opinion?

I'm not interested in other games, I've pretty much narrowed it to these two (and I only want to buy one for now), with a trip to get FFX in about a couple weeks.

Thank you!

GTA is really big and when i play it i still find new things after a couple of months. The godfather is a cool game but not so huge as GTA. Go for GTA and buy G.F. later.....

Without a doubt GTA. GF's too repetitive and over too quickly.

Thanks everyone! I bought GTA, and although I am having a heck of a time trying to help Og get the other guy (I know...sad:shk
, I am having fun with it.

I also bough Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, and have recently purchased a used copy of Final Fantasy X to add to my collection, which already had Kingdom Hearts in it along with these.

Thanks again for everyone's opinion!

I'd recommend "GUN" as well. It's a relatively short game and not too expansive but it's in the same style as GTA except you're a western gun-slinger riding on horseback. I beat the game easily and quickly.... but if you buy it used, you'll definately get a kick out of it. It's pretty fun.

For online play, I thought Battlfield 2: Modern Combot was really addictive.

I've since sold my PS2 for rent-money but I still play a computer game now and again.

I second the above, if you have a PS2 you HAVE to get Resident Evil 4 its one of the best games available on any format, oh and Metal Gear Solid 3 thats another beauty.

ONLINE MULTIPLAYER (drools uncontrolllably)

Hmm, although that may be, I bough a slim PS2, and it says that it can't handle the adaptor for the network. Besides, that will be coming out while I in college, and they don't allow us to use the network for that (the specifically listed that we couldn't connect PS2, XBox, or XBox 360's).

I know...sad:shk:

Although I did go to a local gaming store here in town, and I bought a really cheap copy of Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. I saw some other games in there that were interesting, like Devil May Cry, and Soul Calibur III, although I don't know if I should buy any more games right now, lol.

Heh. Kingdom Hearts all the way. Hell, I don't even play my PS2 anymore. I will eventually (broke college kid) get an Xbox 360 and a Wii (Zelda fanboy). Had I of noticed this thread earlier, I would have sent you my PS2. It's just collecting dust by my TV.

You want to know something funny? I haven't even played Kingdom Hearts since I got my PS2. I've been playing a lot of Ace Combat 5.

I got stuck on GTA:SA....*shakes head in shame*:shk: I'm stuck on a fricken road race out in the boonies.

I also acquired Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness, but I haven't gotten into it too much.

But I do have about six weeks this summer where I'm going to have lots of free time, so who knows what I will be doing then!

Yeah, having a slim isn't great, but it does help cut down on the amount of space I need for packing when I move back and forth between home and college. Sad thing is that it is way smaller than my old DVD player, which was one of the reasons why I bought it.

Oh, did I mention that I am playing it on a 52" flat screen?

Godfather is a nicer game but GTA is just plain fun and the game has a lot more game time.

Get an X-Box it has nicer looking games especially since it can handle normal mapping and for some reason PS2 can't.

The problem with X-Box for me is that one) it supports a company that I don't lilke in the first place. Two) The controller is just too radical for me (yes I have tried playing it, but it's just too much for me to handle). and Three) I like being able to play my PSX games and how the PS2 is smaller than the XBox.

Anyway, what are people's opinion on Dynasty Warriors 3? I found a copy of it for $12 up at a local store, and I'm wondering if it would be a good buy. I went to Gamespot and the ratings weren't great, but they thought the game was good.

Well, it depends on how new the game is, heh. If you are buying it at the local Wal-Mart (which surprisingly this town of 4,000 doesn't have:!
you could pay between $20-$50. If you go to a used games store, you can find much better prices, obviously.
