SHOULD big countries with a small population be allowed to produce more pollution than smaller ones with more people? Two provocative studies on
measuring national "ecological footprints" say they should, and the argument could soon be deployed in talks on a successor to the Kyoto protocol on
climate change.
We all know what that would do for the U.S. economy, don't we. More industry, less responsibility.
Why is it that the powers that be are always looking for a way to pollute responsibly? Instead of being responsible for polluting?
If low pop. countries were allowed to pollute more, industry would simply move and set up shop there where they can pollute to their hearts
content.
They are unwilling to stop, so they look for a back door to pollute through.
