They just tightended the law in
Denmark for possesion, meaning that even possesion of a single spliff will result in a fine. Meanwhile in the UK, I understand, they're stepping down the effort to prosecute such minor offences in order to focus on "hard drugs"...

They can't tax it if you grow it yourself. If it was legalized people would simply grow it themselves in the backyard. God knows the climate here in BC is perfect.

Sure they can... They can tax tobacco, yet you can grow that yourself too... It's hard to get most potheads off the couch, let alone gardening...
