since the patriot act now means (and did years ago) that us citizens have LESS rights than germans before WW2 - has teh line been crossed yet where they have less rights than during the war?

i know its actually quite close now - basically the Gestapo can do what they want without recourse or so much as a by your leave (and that the first AND forth amendment are both a joke now)

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

And thanks to the Gun-Grabbers, the very amendment which could in theory protect all of the above,

Has been slowly ripped apart peice by peice, limiting us law abiding citizens power against the government, They dont fear us, And why should they.

We have pocket knives and they have swords.

Thats a lot of hyperbole that just makes the people concerned about US civil rights look like lunatics.

That is a great point. In a way I find it kind of funny, most Americans have been "ok" with them taking away parts of the 2nd because "who needs a machine gun for hunting" while at the same time their other "more important rights" haven't changed. And now a little change to a law here or there whips them into a fury, the sad thing is when most people finally wake up they won't have anything left to take back what is theirs

At least we have:
Blackmarkets
Smugglers
Gun runners (also smugglers, depends on what you like to call them)
Lots of depo's to raid and steal weapons from if we need them.
As if anyone ever pays attention, bunch of pacifists.
