Long time lurker and general wingnut. Was wondering how many of you guys and gals that share my interest in aircraft also fly commercial sims? I currently have Lockon: Flaming Cliffs, Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, Pacific Fighters, and Crimson Skies installed on my machine. Each has its uses and skill requirements, none are perfect, but all are fun! I have no use for flight sims that omit being able to blow things up(read MSFS and X-plane).

Been lurking here awhile and many of your discussions are mirrored at some of the Sim forums I frequent, and I thought it odd that no one here ever mentions flying sims. Some of you guys would have a field day pointing out all the flaws in the current gen of commercial sims (which have all been argued to death in the Sim world I might add), but I think short of being able to fly the real thing they are great, and much better gaming investments than the latest FPS/RTS/RPG. I mean I paid $30 for F4:AF and I have over 200 hours into it! That's like $.15/hour! (okay so I didn't factor in the cost of my PC or HOTAS but still)

So what's the word any of you take to the virtual skies? Would I know any of you from SimHQ, Frugal's or forums.lockon.ru?

If anyone wants me to post a primer of all current and proposed future sims I'd be happy to do it. And for the record I do not work for any sim related company. I'm just a fan of all things that fly and make things go boom, and like to share the goodness

Oh man, i am a big fan of flight simulators, and i must direct you to what (in my opinion) is the BEST flight sim available today.

Anyway, it's called X-Plane. Check it out:
www.x-plane.com...

I've been hooked on it since v5, and i really feel each release is worth *every* cent i paid.

BTW- have you set yourself up with a nice flight yolk? I highly recomend one if you have not.

Edit- aw crap. I just re-read your post, and it seems x-plane isn't what you're after. Sorry 'bout that.
