One local family is safe tonight and counting its blessings after a chunk of ice fell from the sky and into their Encanto home.
The chunk crashed through Bounmy Ksamyongsa's home in the 300 block of Henson Street. He says what crashed through his roof Monday, with so much force it ripped apart plywood, insulation and sheet rock, was one huge chunk of ice.
"It happened like a bomb, or something like that, really loud," he said.
Bam!
Another ice chunk fell from an airplane and smashed through the roof of a local home early Friday morning, landing between the married couple who lives there, according to police and family members.
Northampton Township police said the ice chunk smashed through the roof and a second-floor room before landing in the family’s foyer in the Holland section of the township around 1 a.m.
The police department was investigating what took place on the first block of Trailwood Drive and will consult with the FAA to figure out if a plane’s evening route matches the location of the incident.

No one was injured, but there was substantial damage to the home, which is evident by the gaping hole in the roof.
There were minor electrical problems because the ice chunk smashed into a chandelier, the family said.
