I am confused. Could most of the stuff said here be true? I mean were US astronauts banned from the moon by ETs? Is Gordon Cooper saying the truth? Cooper has had so many UFO tales, that he comes out to be almost as a story teller. I mean, I don't know if anything that is said in this article sounds legit.

Please read the accounts said to be from US. Astronauts, then tell me what you think. To me they sound to fantastic, to sensationalist, and even fake. It's like, have these people gone crazy, or am I going skeptic? I don't know what to thinK. HELP....!

well it's definately part of an emerging trend. Alot of the Mercury and Gemini astronauts have come out about UFO disclosure. There are quite a few people in the military who have come forward too, not just astonauts. All you have to do is go around to where there would be retired and aging military types and you might be surprised. Some people in the military are opening up about the whole UFO coverup issue.

I like Col. Phillip Corso the best.

I believe the astronauts. Why would they lie? I'm incredulous that the world is still discussing whether UFO's are visiting this planet. Of course they are! Humans are so ignorant. I know that because I am one.

Check out this video by Terence Mckenna, a brilliant man whom I've just recently discovered. He has tremendous insight into the human psyche. I would like to try the shrooms and see if I can contact ET. Check McKenna out:

I trust the various astro/cosmonaut stories as told by THEM not reconstituted in some "journo-fab-psuedo-truth" video or book.
I'm also sure that many of these folks will have some interesting things to say "on-their-deathbeds" and that some even have recorded statements to be released after their deaths. Payback is a (well-you-know).
I correspond from time to time with an old school mate who is a CSA com tech leader. She works support for training out of St. Hubert. She told me of an incident where 3 astronauts, 2 Canucks and 1 Yank were watching a video on a laptop as she entered the room. She saw them watching the Martin Stubbs video and the last words she heard before the meeting were from the female Canadian Astronaut, "Those "Oberg-crystals" are a little large to fit in my drink." First time I've heard them called "Oberg-crystals".
Anybody detect the change in ISS "mission-tone"? Seems more militaristic all-the-time... lately, medals have been awarded in space and the US Army keeps being mentioned. On orbit pep talks from the big-wigs at Army and Space Command. Checked the US guy in Increment 13 creds... national security stuff...
Does the NSA have an operative in orbit? Is it just me or have the last two or three increments been more like this? The cosmos and astros don't work together as much as one might think on orbit... a lot of separation has become noticeable... Are the Russians and Yanks there solely to keep each other "honest" or are the Astros and Cosmos on orbit "Good-Will-Hostages" to some larger truth?
If one drags out the "Alternative 3" "spoof" theories many things said by the Astro/Cosmo community do make more sense... but not complete sense - there are elements involved of which the public knows "less-than-nothing".
That is, we get half-truths, innuendo, mixed with outright lies and are left wondering - when will we be allowed to know?

They all (the ones with guts) have come out and made comments that we are not alone...

Who was it that said the moon has buildings? One of them did.

Since insanity is frowned upon by NASA, i would bet my money they are telling the truth.

No wonder we havent gone back...Yiiikes

Yes I know that lots of them have come out saying stuff, but is it true? I mean they say stuff like ETs banned us from the moon (Neil Armstrong).
If this would be true why is president Bush going to send people to the moon again. They are even going to make a base in the farside of the moon.

Gordon Cooper, in the Documentary Out of the Blue, said that a Flying Saucer flew over his head and landed at a dry lake bed when he was stationed at an airforce base in the dessert. He said that they took film of the strange craft, but the film was later sent out to his superions and was never to be seen again. Gordon Cooper has a bunch of stories like that. I even read somewhere that he had taken Pics from space in the 1960's if area51. Could this type of stuff be true, or are all these people working for a secret group that spreads disinfo? What gives?

What i meant to say is that NASA doesnt hire "insane" astronauts, i would think. (who knows!)

These are supposed to be highly credible people.

If you dont beleive those credible people who have been there, who do you trust?
This isnt just from non-credible websites, i have heard them speak out about this on radio and tv.

Why would they lie?

Scott Carpenter for one seems perfectly sane, I wish I'd realised that he had said that though and I would have quizzed him about it when I had the opportunity.

I've listened to Gordon Coopers entire interview with Art Bell on Coast to Coast AM from September of '99.

He vigorously denies any claims he saw an alien UFO in orbit.
A lot of people made money telling lies is they way he put it.

He did talk about the UFOs he saw over Germany in the 1950s and his
believe that they were of alien origin.

Also he talked about how a camera crew under his supervision
photographed a metallic disk shaped craft landing outside Edwards
Air Force Base. And how Washinton DC told him to send the negatives
without developing the film to them right away.
He never developed the negatives but says he looked at them.
And what he saw was unmistakably an alien UFO.
It was suggested what he saw was a ballon, but he said the negative
revealed landing gear. So there you have it.

90% of the stories are bunk. UFO believers need to concentrate on the facts.
Gordon Cooper talked about his two encounters. No need to make up
things about the supposed green UFO from Mercury.
It didn't happen and repeating it as truth is tantamount to fraud.

I believe other astronauts have secrets to reveal as well.

Read the accounts here.

Major Cooper also testified before the United Nations:

"I believe that these extra-terrestrial vehicles and their crews are visiting this planet from other planets... Most astronauts were reluctant to discuss UFOs."

"I did have occasion in 1951 to have two days of observation of many flights of them, of different sizes, flying in fighter formation, generally from east to west over Europe."

And according to a taped interview by J. L. Ferrando, Major Cooper said:

"For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics.

Hmmmmm..... Good reading, please visit the website. It has accounts from most Astronauts.

He stands by what he said.
People working for him at Edwards AFB saw a silver disk fly out of the sky and land. They approached it and got within 50 meters before it took off.
The people who saw it were certain of what it was - an extraterrestrial vehicle. They got high quality photographs. They were trained photographers with good equipment and it was around 8am and sunny.

Cooper called Washington DC. They told him do not develop the negatives we'll send someone to get it. A courier came and picked it up and he never heard about it again.

While the negatives were in his custody, he looked at them.
It showed a classic "flying saucer" complete with landing gear shaped like a tricycle.

These are the stories that are credible and I believe are true.
The story about the green UFO he saw in orbit is false.
He said it was false on Art Bell's program.

I'm not so sure about the astronaut claim of alien bases on the moon.
I'd like to see some direct quotes from an astronaut saying this.
I don't think any astronaut has said anything like that.

Any news from the "other side" - the cosmonauts?

I have a book from 1992 quoting a Soviet newspaper from 1990 reporting on some pictures taken by a space probe in 1988. The story says pictures, but the book only features one: a pretty nice shot of a US WWII bomber parked in a lunar crater. I think that same book was the first place I found the Santa Claus = UFO bit.

Anyhow; even though NASA hardly hires schizophrenics and similar, perhaps we should take into account the 40 or so years that has passed since any astronaut in question was up there. Who knows how many blows to the head they could have suffered in the meanwhile? No debunking, and only slight sarcasm, but "things change" you know.

Sorry haven’t read all the replies, but these stories about astronauts and UFO’s have been exaggerated. I recommend for anyone interested to read “Leap of Faith”, co-authored by Gordon. He clears up a lot of the rumors about astronauts and UFO’s. Neil Armstrong never saw one and was agitated by all the rumors. He said he did not witness the UFO that landed at Edwards, but that he only saw the film. However he did see over flights of UFO’s and said they were beyond any performance capability of any nation on Earth. He did make several statements regarding UFO's and also testified before the UN. Gordon was a believer, and I think he had good reason.

Edit: Just to be clear, Gordon said the film of the UFO landing was developed, and he held it up to a light to look at it. Then they were ordered to turn in the film before they had a chance to run it, and it has been classified ever since.

Wow this is really interesting, i can see that it is only true with all the different people claiming to of sighted UFO`S.Not reallt that unbelieveable to skeptics aliens are bound to watch are ventures into space to see what are intentions are peaceful or aggresive. They clearly aren`t over aggresive as nothing has been attacked only warning given which is fair enough.
