The immigration debate and recent demonstrations over the issue have led to a change in the dress code for a middle school in Adams County.

Students at Shaw Heights Middle School are no longer allowed to wear anything that is patriotic, including camouflage pants, because they have become a political symbol for a version of patriotism, CBS4 reports.

"It upsets me that we cannot support our troops -- the military," said Kirsten Golgart, an eighth grader who was told she'd be suspended if she didn't change her clothes. "We can't support our country. If we're American, I think we should be proud to be an American."

cbs4denver.com...

More proof the completely ignorant are running US schools. Being supportive of America in a time of war, when illegal filth fills the streets with offensive flags.

Real americans need to wake-up and take back their schools NOW. Throw the disease infested filth back across the borders along with the ignorant "teachers" who support their anti-american insanity.

One more "mexican" flag flown in the streets of america should bring out local militia to drive the invaders back across the borders.

Blame Bush. If he werent in bed with Vicente Fox and we had a real president, this wouldnt be happening.
In fact, the world would be a lot saner and safer.

I like you.

Think that will happen?

How someone could cause this much chaos and survive is beyond me.

The same kind of problem occurs here in the UK. In England it is frowned on to fly the St georges cross on St georges day(it's the English flag on and their patron saint ffs). I'm Scottish and whilst I should probably find this funny I can see a time when the British Identity will no longer exist. The loony lefties are taking this political correctness way too far and it's time the citizens of the UK said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Does no one think it a little sad that kids consider being patriotic as wearing military camoflaged pants and jackets, this has conatations of a brainwashed Hitler youth.

I can understand kids wearing them cos' they're fashionable, comfortable and practical, but don't try to tell me these kids are being political, they're more interested on what ringtone to use that day.

Wow. I think everyone should calm down.

People are people. If you take someone from South Africa and compare them with another person from Siberia, you will find that they are the exact same. They each respect their friends, they each love their family, and they each value theirs and others' lives.

This 'disease infested filth' could have been you, if perhaps one man many centuries ago had made one decision different.

The world is breaking up, growing more populated, and is getting dirtier. If we don't start getting along, if we keep abusing people trying to make a life for themselves any way they can, how can we hope to survive?

Just because someone was brought up in a different place with different values, how does that give you the right to abuse them? Why should your life be more valuable than the person's in the gutter?
Short answer: it isn't.

Koka,

You are absolutely correct. In my day, kids used to wear camouflage outfits because it was cool. They still do today, because it appears "cool" and nothing else.

Why do I get the feeling that this kind of idiocy is tested on us Brits to see how we react before being sent over the pond? As has already been said, its been going on over here for years, and I sincerely hope you guys can get it nipped in the bud before it reaches the insane levels it has over here.
One example, a school near where I live has banned any English national team shirts from being worn at the school for being 'racist symbols', but any other (Pakistani & Indian mainly) are ok. The result? graffiti calling for the killing of all whites closing the school down until its cleared, running battles in the streets and police escorts for the kids to get home safely. Its quietened down now but the next major event in the world will set it off again.

Having said all that, its important to remember where your anger should be directed. Its the officials and politicians who create these problems and its they who should carry the can. Both the US and UK are the same in that nearly all the population were immigrants at one time. Given the choice, I'd always, always whack a politician or PC nutjob with a cricket bat before a hard working immigrant who just wants a better life and is prepared to work for it.

Something tells me that if the rule was banning anything invovling another nation's flag that you'd be jumping for joy.

The display of the mexican flag is offensive in america and especially in Texas. Perhaps when Bush dies he should have his coffin draped in the mexican flag. I hope he moves to mexico when he's out of the whitehouse, oh wait, mexico has moved here...........

Have you taken a poll of other Americans regarding their feelings about the Mexican flag? And I distinctly recall that in San Antonio (The place where the battle of the Alamo happened), the Mexican flag flies all over the place--including near the monument. The only difference is that the American flag is higher because...we're in America.

Or did you ask the Daughters of the Texas Revolution?

I hate to tell them this....but, I wear what I have to wear, and if they don't like it oh, well..I'll just not go there anymore..I sure the heck ain't gonna go out and buy a whole new wardrobe to please them! I wonder if they have considered the idea that the same might be true for some of these kids? I would hate to have kids missing school until the next paycheck, simply because they don't like the little red, white and blue stripes that are on his shirts!!

I hate stupid rules, and this is one. let the danged kids wear the clothes that they have to wear for crying out loud! What are sales down that much, that you have to force people to get out there and go deeper into debt to bring those sales figures back up?

I think they should be dressed how they like, im all for free expresion.

But thermopolis...

"Throw the disease infested filth back across the borders along with the ignorant "teachers" who support their anti-american insanity. "

This makes me wonder wether they should be able to wear it if it inspires people like you to react in souch a vile offensive maner. You are not exactly one to lecture people from ignorance if you spew Bull$**T like that (pardon the expletive)...

Secondly...

If you lived in south-east london, bermondsey, (where i live) youd see why the flying of the st. Georges flag is sometimes frowned upon. Its meaning has been twisted and used by racists and the BNP, and now is seen as symbol of white supremacy and racism.

Its sad that it has...but it has

hmmmm... I wonder what would happen if I wore iraq cloths.... Interesting thought... If I was going to be suspended for that I'd keep on wearing them... F--- this bull# on what you can and cant wear and what you can and cant say. You know what: one of these days I'm gonna get up on the #ing school stage and yell out bush sux and all of the things that he screwed us over on and go on and anti government rant and the only way they'll #ing remove me is by hauling my dead # out toe tagged... I wish... I still may go on the rant though.... Not on stage... but towards people near me... considering that I do every day... A regular alex jones I am...

If we (U.K) as a country spent half as much time claiming our flags back from the racist organisations instead of complaining about 'immigrants' I'm sure we would be flying high by now.

Real americans need to wake-up and take back their schools NOW
Don't know what a real American is, please explain. This is how I understand it:
Real American = Red Indian
Euro American = White America
Afro American = Black America
etc etc etc
