John McCain Warns of Iran 'Armageddon'

2008 presidential hopeful John McCain said Sunday that the consequences of a military conflict with Iran over that country's nuclear program could be so serious they could lead to "Armageddon."

The Arizona Republican issued his dire warning after saying that before any military option against Iran is exercised, the world community must first put maximum pressure on Tehran through sanctions.

McCain said that if sanctions fail, the U.S. must be prepared to resort to the use of military force.

"Would it be a difficult military option?" he asked rhetorically. "Sure, it would be a difficult military option. But you cannot remove it from the table."

What about all the youth who have to die in a pointless war like in the 30's and 40's and then again in the 60's and 70's and now again. I'm young only 22 but fortunate enough to be exempt from being drafted into any war. Im what they call a medical liability.

wow. You really think that the war in the 30s and 40s was pointless? That probably makes me sadder than anything else I have read here. Wow.

Deny Ignorance, at least on WW2

The others are open to debate which would be really off topic. As to the US invading Iran - it would definitely be messy and in my opinion would probably lead to the creation of a Caliphate of Muslim states. It would be easy for a charismatic Islamic leader figure to unite his nations claiming that three Islamic nations have fallen to the West. Three is a very primal number for humans as it has a number of symbolic representations (i.e. father, mother, child; sun, moon, earth; "holy trinity"; etc.)

It makes you SAD that some people can see that ALL of the wars that have been fought so far have resulted in OUR LOSS ?

I guess your talking about the 'freedom' you have enjoyed experiencing in this counrty. Or the reasons you think it was important for U.S. to be involved in that or any of the other wars we have lost over the years.
Or the poor Jews who now have the mentality that it is OK to destroy the rest of mankind, and act as if they are ignorant enough to believe they are 'immune' to their own mutation.

No matter how you look at it, WE have become lab-rats because of WAR... so who really won those fights?
Damn sure not the people who died in them, and that includes YOU.

Can I squirt some of my 'special sauce' into your family's Milk?
or have you already developed a craving for the FDA's nut-butter?

at least I asked.

Has any WAR been won yet? The U.S. Secretary of Defense is responsible for putting FORMALDEHYDE BACK into our system.

You like Rob ZOMBIE?

In 200 years 90% of ALL MEN will have their nuts cut out, or WE will all be dead.

dam dude, first of all, you are near the top of the list for military conscription. The age limit I believe is 25 and they start with the oldest and work there way down to the youngest at 18.

Second, wars not neccessary in the 40s? Europe would have the swastika flag and asia the rising sun if no one stood up to them.

i'm guessing you flunked world history.

i'd call it cowardice myself, but that's just the opinion of a veteran....you probably dont care about that, huh?

"i'm guessing you flunked world history. "

Actually i graduated with a 97% average from highschool

"i'd call it cowardice myself, but that's just the opinion of a veteran....you probably dont care about that, huh?"

Actually i can't even volunteer because i sustained major spinal injuries when i was 15. This included the burst fracture (150 peices) of my C5 vertibrae as well as i severed part of my spine and lost mobility and live in pain pretty much everyday.

I do care about veterans my grandfather was a vet my father was a vet and so on me im not eligable not by choice either. Most of my family has or is giving service in the Canadian forces.
-----------------------------

WW2 was a war to make people money. IBM profited from making the systems that Hitler used in his camps to process prisoners. Prescott Bush and his partners actually funded Auchiwitz camp as well as Hitlers rise to power in Germany. WW2 was fought for money so you could make people rich and watch your commrades die face down in the mud and come back with psycho/physical disorders to deal with.

Cowardice is launching missiles from ships and dropping bombs from airplanes and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians in overnight raids and then saying they were missed targets look away at the girl missing in Aruba.

Flying planes into buildings and giving your life willingly for your cause with the lack of fear when it comes to dying is what lost Vietnam and almost Japan in ww2.

The Domino Theory was a questionable one and will be debated for years to come, but I think Hitler showed pretty conclusively that he would not stop unless stopped by force. To say nothing of the moral arguments for fighting against his regime. Perhaps that war was pointless in the grander sense though, as in "why does humanity find itself in a situation where it has to fight wars to begin with..."

With drafts- even if you don't agree with the war, and could get out of the draft for one reason or another, your spot is still being filled by one of your countrymen, who could well die in your place... If we went to war with Iran, we would almost certainly need a draft, and it's something everyone should consider regardless of their views on the rightness or wrongness of doing so. (Not pointing fingers either- a valid medical reason is a valid medical reason, nothing you can do.)

did that include learning how to read? because if it did then you have simply ignored the rules and regs of this site.

first of all, you need to learn how to quote:

Zed's Handbook

a good place to start. by not attributing the quote to the individual who said it, you are endangering the administrators of this site. click on the "cc" at the bottom right hand corner for more info.

i'm sorry about your injury, but that doesnt change the tone of your post. lets hear it again:

I'm young only 22 but fortunate enough to be exempt from being drafted into any war. Im what they call a medical liability.

too me that pretty much sound like youre laughing at all the brave men and women who are proud to fight for their country, and that even if you were healthy enough to enlist, that you would run and hide from it. that's called cowardice IMHO.

I do care about veterans my grandfather was a vet my father was a vet and so on me im not eligable not by choice either. Most of my family has or is giving service in the Canadian forces.

too bad you didnt learn anything those brave men.

WW2 was a war to make people money.

revisionist history, and you have simply proven yourself gullible to believe it. vietnam, yes. korea, maybe. not WWII.....if that war hadnt been fought the world would be a much different place, and whole races of people would no longer exist (and not just jews....blacks, certain indians, etc).

wow. you want to maybe back up some of this propaganda with some proof?

Cowardice is launching missiles from ships and dropping bombs from airplanes and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians in overnight raids and then saying they were missed targets look away at the girl missing in Aruba.

nobody has said mistakes arent made. but missiles and bombs dont win wars...infantry does. eventually some poor sucker carrying an m16 has to go in and clean up the mess. you call that cowardice? i dare you to tell your father and grandfather to their faces that their service was meaningless.

Flying planes into buildings and giving your life willingly for your cause with the lack of fear when it comes to dying is what lost Vietnam and almost Japan in ww2.

that quote says it all. you complain about the bombs and missiles that accidently kill civilians, and then you glorify those terrorists that intentionally target civilians by the thousands.

must be nice not having to live in the real world.
